Al-Kafi and Tahzib al-Ahkam: Abu Ayyub says: I said in the presence of Imam al-Sadiq, peace be upon him: We wish to hasten on the journey, and it was the night of departure. When I asked him: At what hour shall we depart? he said to me: As for the second day, do not depart until the sun's decline — and it was the night of departure — but as for the third day, depart when the sun has risen, according to the Book of God, for God, Mighty and Majestic, said: "So whoever hastens [and performs the rites] in two days, there is no sin upon him; and whoever delays [and performs them in three days], there is no sin upon him." If God had not stated this, no one would have remained without hastening; but God said: "And whoever delays, there is no sin upon him."

Al-Kafi: 'Abd al-Rahman b. al-Hajjaj related from Abu Ibrahim, peace be upon him: I asked him about a man who out of ignorance marries a woman who is in her waiting period — does it cause permanent prohibition? He said: When it is out of ignorance, he must marry her after the completion of her waiting period. People are excused in ignorance of greater matters [too]. I said: In which of the two ignorances is he excused — not knowing the prohibition of marrying that woman, or not knowing that she was in her waiting period? He said: Each of those two ignorances is easier than the other; God the Exalted made that woman unlawful to him because he had no power to take precaution. I said: Is that man excused in the other ignorance too? He said: Yes! When that woman's waiting period is complete, that man is excused in marrying her. I said: And if one of the two did this deliberately and the other out of ignorance? He said: The one who did it deliberately never returns to his companion.

Al-Kafi: Al-Sayyari says: Ibn Abi Layla asked Muhammad b. Muslim: What have you heard from Imam al-Baqir, peace be upon him, about a woman who has no hair behind her private part? Is it counted a defect? Muhammad b. Muslim said: I have no text from him on this matter, but Imam al-Baqir, peace be upon him, related to me from his father, from his fathers, from the Messenger of God, may God bless him and his family, that he said: Whoever has anything more or less than his original creation, it is counted a defect. Ibn Abi Layla said to him: This suffices you — and then he departed from him.
