عُمَرَ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ اللَّهِ عليه السلام أَنَّهُ قَالَ: إِنَّ أَمْرَنَا صَعْبٌ مُسْتَصْعَبٌ لَا يَحْتَمِلُهُ إِلَّا صُدُورٌ مُشْرِقَةٌ وَ قُلُوبٌ مُنِيرَةٌ وَ أَفْئِدَةٌ سَلِيمَةٌ وَ أَخْلَاقٌ حَسَنَةٌ لِأَنَّ اللَّهَ قَدْ أَخَذَ عَلَى شِيعَتِنَا الْمِيثَاقَ فَمَنْ وَفَى لَنَا وَفَى اللَّهُ لَهُ بِالْجَنَّةِ وَ مَنْ أَبْغَضَنَا وَ لَمْ يُؤَدِّ إِلَيْنَا حَقَّنَا فَهُوَ فِي النَّارِ وَ إِنَّ عِنْدَنَا سِرّاً مِنَ اللَّهِ مَا كَلَّفَ اللَّهُ بِهِ أَحَداً غَيْرَنَا ثُمَّ أَمَرَنَا بِتَبْلِيغِهِ فَبَلَّغْنَاهُ فَلَمْ نَجِدْ لَهُ أَهْلًا وَ لَا مَوْضِعاً وَ لَا حَمَلَةً يَحْمِلُونَهُ حَتَّى خَلَقَ اللَّهُ لِذَلِكَ قَوْماً خُلِقُوا مِنْ طِينَةِ مُحَمَّدٍ وَ ذُرِّيَّتِهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِمْ وَ مِنْ نُورِهِمْ صَنَعَهُمُ اللَّهُ بِفَضْلِ صُنْعِ رَحْمَتِهِ فَبَلَّغْنَاهُمْ عَنِ اللَّهِ مَا أَمَرَنَا فَقَبِلُوهُ وَ احْتَمَلُوا ذَلِكَ وَ لَمْ تَضْطَرِبْ قُلُوبُهُمْ وَ مَالَتْ أَرْوَاحُهُمْ إِلَى مَعْرِفَتِنَا وَ سِرِّنَا وَ الْبَحْثِ عَنْ أَمْرِنَا وَ إِنَّ اللَّهَ خَلَقَ أَقْوَاماً لِلنَّارِ وَ أَمَرَنَا أَنْ نُبَلِّغَهُمْ ذَلِكَ فَبَلَّغْنَاهُ فَاشْمَأَزَّتْ قَلْبُهُمْ مِنْهُ وَ نَفَرُوا عَنْهُ وَ رَدُّوهُ عَلَيْنَا وَ لَمْ يَحْتَمِلُوهُ وَ كَذَّبُوا بِهِ وَ طَبَعَ اللَّهُ عَلى قُلُوبِهِمْ ثُمَّ أَطْلَقَ أَلْسِنَتَهُمْ بِبَعْضِ الْحَقِّ فَهُمْ يَنْطِقُونَ بِهِ لَفْظاً وَ قُلُوبُهُمْ مُنْكِرَةٌ لَهُ ثُمَّ بَكَى عليه السلام وَ رَفَعَ يَدَيْهِ وَ قَالَ اللَّهُمَّ إِنَّ هَذِهِ الشِّرْذِمَةَ الْمُطِيعِينَ لِأَمْرِكَ قَلِيلُونَ اللَّهُمَّ فَاجْعَلْ مَحْيَاهُمْ مَحْيَانَا وَ مَمَاتَهُمْ مَمَاتَنَا وَ لَا تُسَلِّطْ عَلَيْهِمْ عَدُوّاً فَإِنَّكَ إِنْ سَلَّطْتَ عَلَيْهِمْ عَدُوّاً لَنْ تُعْبَدَ.

Our walaya and imamate is hard and hard to bear; none can bear it but shining breasts, luminous and sound hearts and good characters. For God, exalted, took a covenant from our Shi'a: whoever keeps his covenant, God will fulfil Paradise for him; whoever is at enmity with us and does not render our right is in the Fire. And with us is a divine secret which God has laid upon none but us; then He commanded us to convey it, and we conveyed it, and found for it no people, no place and no bearers to carry it — until God created for it a group from the clay of Muhammad, may God bless him and his family, and of his progeny, and from their light. God, exalted, created them from the creation of His mercy. We conveyed to them what we were commanded by God, and they accepted it and bore it, and their hearts were not shaken, and their spirits inclined to knowing us, to seeking our walaya and our secrets. And God, exalted, created a group for the Fire, and commanded us to convey to them, and we conveyed the walaya to them. Their hearts were displeased with the walaya and recoiled from it and rejected it upon us and did not bear it and counted it false; and God set a seal upon their hearts, then made their tongues utter some truths, so that they speak some truths with their tongues while their hearts do not accept them. Then he wept and raised his hands and said: O God, this group is few, those who obey Your command are few. O God, make their life our life and their death our death, and do not set an enemy over them; for if You set an enemy over them, You will not be worshipped.

«106»- بشا، بشارة المصطفى مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَلِيِّ بْنِ عَبْدِ الصَّمَدِ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ جَدِّهِ عَنْ أَبِي الْحُسَيْنِ بْنِ أَبِي الطَّيِّبِ عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ الْقَاسِمِ الْهَاشِمِيِّ عَنْ عِيسَى عَنْ فَرَجِ بْنِ فَرْوَةَ عَنْ مَسْعَدَةَ بْنِ صَدَقَةَ عَنْ صَالِحِ بْنِ مِيثَمٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ قَالَ: بَيْنَمَا أَنَا فِي السُّوقِ إِذْ أَتَانِي أَصْبَغُ بْنُ نُبَاتَةَ فَقَالَ وَيْحَكَ يَا مِيثَمُ لَقَدْ سَمِعْتُ مِنْ أَمِيرِ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ عَلِيِّ بْنِ أَبِي طَالِبٍ عليهما السلام حَدِيثاً صَعْباً شَدِيداً فَأَيُّنَا نَكُونُ كَذَلِكَ قُلْتُ وَ مَا هُوَ قَالَ سَمِعْتُهُ يَقُولُ إِنَّ حَدِيثَنَا أَهْلَ الْبَيْتِ صَعْبٌ مُسْتَصْعَبٌ لَا يَحْتَمِلُهُ إِلَّا مَلَكٌ مُقَرَّبٌ أَوْ نَبِيٌّ مُرْسَلٌ أَوْ عَبْدٌ امْتَحَنَ اللَّهُ قَلْبَهُ لِلْإِيمَانِ فَقُمْتُ مِنْ فَوْرَتِي فَأَتَيْتُ عَلِيّاً عليه السلام فَقُلْتُ يَا أَمِيرَ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ حَدِيثٌ أَخْبَرَنِي بِهِ الْأَصْبَغُ عَنْكَ قَدْ ضِقْتُ بِهِ ذَرْعاً قَالَ وَ مَا هُوَ فَأَخْبَرْتُهُ قَالَ فَتَبَسَّمَ ثُمَّ قَالَ اجْلِسْ يَا مِيثَمُ أَ وَ كُلُّ عِلْمٍ يَحْتَمِلُهُ عَالِمٌ إِنَّ اللَّهَ تَعَالَى قَالَ لِمَلَائِكَتِهِ إِنِّي جاعِلٌ فِي الْأَرْضِ خَلِيفَةً قالُوا أَ تَجْعَلُ فِيها مَنْ يُفْسِدُ فِيها وَ يَسْفِكُ الدِّماءَ وَ نَحْنُ نُسَبِّحُ بِحَمْدِكَ وَ نُقَدِّسُ لَكَ قالَ إِنِّي أَعْلَمُ ما لا تَعْلَمُونَ فَهَلْ رَأَيْتَ الْمَلَائِكَةَ احْتَمَلُوا الْعِلْمَ قَالَ قُلْتُ هَذِهِ وَ اللَّهِ أَعْظَمُ مِنْ ذَلِكَ قَالَ وَ الْأُخْرَى أَنَّ مُوسَى عليه السلام أَنْزَلَ اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَ جَلَّ عَلَيْهِ التَّوْرَاةَ فَظَنَّ أَنْ لَا أَحَدَ

Bisharat al-Mustafa: Salih b. Maytham related from his father that one day he was in the market when al-Asbagh b. Nubata came to him and said: Woe to you, O Maytham, I have heard a hard hadith from the Commander of the Faithful, peace be upon him — which of us is like that? I said: What was the hadith? He said: I heard him saying: The hadith of us, the People of the House, is difficult and hard; none has the strength to bear it but an angel brought near, or a prophet sent with a mission, or a servant whose heart God has tested for faith. I rose from my place and came to the Commander of the Faithful. I said: O Commander of the Faithful! Al-Asbagh b. Nubata related a hadith to me from you at which my heart was straitened. He said: What was that hadith? I related the hadith. He smiled and said: O Maytham, sit down. Can every scholar bear every knowledge? God, exalted, said to His angels: "And when your Lord said to the angels: I am placing a vicegerent on the earth, they said: Will You place therein one who will work corruption in it and shed blood, while we glorify You with praise and hallow You? He said: I know what you do not know." Could the angels bear that knowledge? I said: By God, this hadith is harder than al-Asbagh b.
