كِتَابِ اللَّهِ وَ سُنَّتِهِ أَوْ تَقُولُونَ بِرَأْيِكُمْ قَالَ بَلْ كُلُّ شَيْ ءٍ نَقُولُهُ فِي كِتَابِ اللَّهِ وَ سُنَّتِهِ.
in the Book and the Sunna, or is it your own opinion? He said: Everything we say is in the Book and the Sunna.
«9»- ير، بصائر الدرجات مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْحَمِيدِ عَنْ يُونُسَ بْنِ يَعْقُوبَ عَنِ الْحَارِثِ بْنِ الْمُغِيرَةِ النَّضْرِيِّ قَالَ: قُلْتُ لِأَبِي عَبْدِ اللَّهِ عليه السلام عِلْمُ عَالِمِكُمْ أَيُّ شَيْ ءٍ وَجْهُهُ قَالَ وِرَاثَةٌ مِنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ وَ عَلِيِّ بْنِ أَبِي طَالِبٍ صَلَوَاتُ اللَّهِ عَلَيْهِمَا يَحْتَاجُ النَّاسُ إِلَيْنَا وَ لَا نَحْتَاجُ إِلَيْهِمْ.
Basa'ir al-Darajat: Al-Harith b. al-Mughira al-Nadri says: I said to Imam al-Sadiq, peace be upon him: By what way is the knowledge of your learned one? He said: We inherited it from the Prophet, may God bless him and his family, and from 'Ali, peace be upon him; people are in need of us, but we are not in need of them.
«10»- ير، بصائر الدرجات مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْحُسَيْنِ عَنِ ابْنِ بَشِيرٍ عَنِ الْمُفَضَّلِ عَنِ الْحَارِثِ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ اللَّهِ عليه السلام قَالَ: قُلْتُ أَخْبِرْنِي عَنْ عِلْمِ عَالِمِكُمْ قَالَ وِرَاثَةٌ مِنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صلى اللّٰه عليه و آله وَ مِنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ أَبِي طَالِبٍ عليهما السلام فَقُلْتُ إِنَّا نَتَحَدَّثُ أَنَّهُ يُقْذَفُ فِي قَلْبِهِ أَوْ يُنْكَتُ فِي أُذُنِهِ فَقَالَ أَوْ ذَاكَ ١.
Basa'ir al-Darajat: Al-Harith says: I said to Imam al-Sadiq, peace be upon him: Tell us of the knowledge of your learned one. He said: It came to us as an inheritance from the Prophet, may God bless him and his family, and from 'Ali, peace be upon him. I said: We say that it is cast into the Imam's heart or his ear. He said: Sometimes that too is so.
بيان: قوله عليه السلام أو ذاك أي قد يكون ذاك أيضا و سيأتي شرحه في كتاب الإمامة.
Elucidation: "Aw dhaka": that is, sometimes that too is so; and its explanation will come shortly in the Book of the Imamate.
«11»- ير، بصائر الدرجات مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ عَمَّنْ رَوَاهُ عَنْ عَبْدِ الصَّمَدِ بْنِ بَشِيرٍ عَنْ أَبِي الْجَارُودِ عَنْ أَبِي جَعْفَرٍ عليه السلام قَالَ: إِنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صلى اللّٰه عليه و آله دَعَا عَلِيّاً عليه السلام فِي الْمَرَضِ الَّذِي تُوُفِّيَ فِيهِ فَقَالَ يَا عَلِيُّ ادْنُ مِنِّي حَتَّى أُسِرَّ إِلَيْكَ مَا أَسَرَّ اللَّهُ إِلَيَّ وَ أَئْتَمِنَكَ عَلَى مَا ائْتَمَنَنِيَ اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ فَفَعَلَ ذَلِكَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى اللّٰه عليه و آله بِعَلِیٍّ عليه السلام وَ فَعَلَهُ عَلِيٌّ عليه السلام بِالْحَسَنِ عليه السلام وَ فَعَلَهُ حَسَنٌ عليه السلام بِالْحُسَيْنِ عليه السلام وَ فَعَلَهُ الْحُسَيْنُ عليه السلام بِأَبِي عليه السلام وَ فَعَلَهُ أَبِي عليه السلام بِي صَلَوَاتُ اللَّهِ عَلَيْهِمْ أَجْمَعِينَ.
Basa'ir al-Darajat: Abu al-Jarud relates from Imam al-Baqir, peace be upon him, that in his final illness the Prophet, may God bless him and his family, called 'Ali, peace be upon him, and said: Come near me, that I may entrust to you the secrets of God which He entrusted to me, and entrust to you what God entrusted to me. So the Messenger of God, may God bless him and his family, entrusted those secrets and that trust to 'Ali, peace be upon him; and 'Ali, peace be upon him, entrusted them to al-Hasan, peace be upon him; and al-Hasan, peace be upon him, to al-Husayn, peace be upon him; and al-Husayn, peace be upon him, to my father; and my father entrusted them to me. God's blessings be upon them all.

«12»- ير، بصائر الدرجات عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنْ مُعَمَّرِ بْنِ خَلَّادٍ عَنْ أَبِي الْحَسَنِ الرِّضَا عليه السلام قَالَ سَمِعْتُهُ يَقُولُ أَسَرَّ اللَّهُ سِرَّهُ إِلَى جَبْرَئِيلَ عليه السلام وَ أَسَرَّ جَبْرَئِيلُ عليه السلام إِلَى مُحَمَّدٍ صلى اللّٰه عليه و آله وَ أَسَرَّ مُحَمَّدٌ صلى اللّٰه عليه و آله إِلَى مَنْ شَاءَ اللَّهُ ٢.
Basa'ir al-Darajat: Mu'ammar b. Khallad says: I heard Imam al-Rida, peace be upon him, say: God tells His secret to Gabriel, and he to the Prophet, may God bless him and his family, and the Prophet, may God bless him and his family, to whomever God wills.
