Amali of al-Shaykh al-Tusi: Sama'a said: I said to Imam al-Sadiq, peace be upon him: God sent down the verse "whoever kills a soul, not for a soul or for corruption in the land, it is as though he had killed all mankind; and whoever gives it life, it is as though he had given life to all mankind" — what does it mean? He said: One who brings a person out of error into guidance has indeed given that soul life; and one who takes a soul out of guidance into error has, by God, put it to death.

"That is the Book, there is no doubt in it, a guidance for the God-fearing,"
