«23»- كش، رجال الكشي حَمْدَوَيْهِ بْنُ نُصَيْرٍ ١ عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي الْخَطَّابِ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ سِنَانٍ عَنْ حُذَيْفَةَ بْنِ مَنْصُورٍ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ اللَّهِ عليه السلام قَالَ: اعْرِفُوا مَنَازِلَ الرِّجَالِ مِنَّا عَلَى قَدْرِ رِوَايَاتِهِمْ عَنَّا.

Rijal al-Kashshi: Hudhayfa b. Mansur related from Imam al-Sadiq, peace be upon him, that he said: Know the standing of the men of our Shi'a by the measure of what they relate from us.

«24»- كش، رجال الكشي إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ الْعَبَّاسِ عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ إِدْرِيسَ عَنِ الْأَشْعَرِيِّ عَنْ سُلَيْمَانَ الْخَطَّابِيِّ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنْ بَعْضِ رِجَالِهِ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ حُمْرَانَ الْعِجْلِيِّ عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ حَنْظَلَةَ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ اللَّهِ عليه السلام قَالَ: اعْرِفُوا مَنَازِلَ النَّاسِ مِنَّا عَلَى قَدْرِ رِوَايَاتِهِمْ عَنَّا.

Rijal al-Kashshi: 'Ali b. Hanzala related from Imam al-Sadiq, peace be upon him, that he said: Know people's standing with us by the measure of their reports from us.

«25»- جش، الفهرست للنجاشي قَالَ شَيْخُنَا أَبُو عَبْدِ اللَّهِ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ النُّعْمَانِ فِي كِتَابِهِ مَصَابِيحِ النُّورِ أَخْبَرَنِي الصَّدُوقُ جَعْفَرُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ قُولَوَيْهِ عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ الْحُسَيْنِ بْنِ بَابَوَيْهِ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ جَعْفَرٍ عَنْ دَاوُدَ بْنِ الْقَاسِمِ الْجَعْفَرِيِّ قَالَ: عَرَضْتُ عَلَى أَبِي مُحَمَّدٍ صَاحِبِ الْعَسْكَرِ عليه السلام كِتَابَ يَوْمٍ وَ لَيْلَةٍ لِيُونُسَ فَقَالَ لِي تَصْنِيفُ مَنْ هَذَا فَقُلْتُ تَصْنِيفُ يُونُسَ مَوْلَى آلِ يَقْطِينٍ فَقَالَ أَعْطَاهُ اللَّهُ بِكُلِّ حَرْفٍ نُوراً يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ.

Al-Fihrist of al-Najashi: Dawud b. Qasim al-Ja'fari says: I presented the book Yawm wa-Layla of Yunus to Imam al-Hasan al-'Askari, peace be upon him. He said to me: Whose composition is this book? I said: The composition of Yunus, client of the family of Yaqtin. He said: May God grant him on the Day of Resurrection a light for every letter of this book!

«26»- ختص، الإختصاص ابْنُ الْوَلِيدِ عَنِ الصَّفَّارِ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الْحَمِيدِ عَنْ عَبْدِ السَّلَامِ بْنِ سَالِمٍ عَنْ مُيَسِّرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ قَالَ قَالَ أَبُو عَبْدِ اللَّهِ عليه السلام حَدِيثٌ يَأْخُذُهُ صَادِقٌ عَنْ صَادِقٍ خَيْرٌ مِنَ الدُّنْيَا وَ مَا فِيهَا.

Al-Ikhtisas: Maysara b. 'Abd al-'Aziz says: Imam al-Sadiq, peace be upon him, said: A hadith that a truthful man takes from a truthful man is better than the world and all that is in it.

«27»- أَقُولُ رَوَى السَّيِّدُ بْنُ طَاوُسٍ فِي كَشْفِ الْمَحَجَّةِ بِإِسْنَادِهِ إِلَى أَبِي جَعْفَرٍ الطُّوسِيِّ بِإِسْنَادِهِ إِلَى مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ الْحَسَنِ بْنِ الْوَلِيدِ مِنْ كِتَابِ الْجَامِعِ بِإِسْنَادِهِ إِلَى الْمُفَضَّلِ بْنِ عُمَرَ قَالَ قَالَ أَبُو عَبْدِ اللَّهِ عليه السلام اكْتُبْ وَ بُثَّ عِلْمَكَ فِي إِخْوَانِكَ فَإِنْ مِتَّ فَوَرِّثْ كُتُبَكَ بَنِيكَ فَإِنَّهُ يَأْتِي عَلَى النَّاسِ زَمَانُ هَرْجٍ مَا يَأْنَسُونَ فِيهِ إِلَّا بِكُتُبِهِمْ.

I say: Sayyid Ibn Tawus related in Kashf al-Mahajja, with his chain up to al-Shaykh al-Tusi, who with his chain to Ibn al-Walid, from the book al-Jami', with his chain, from al-Mufaddal b. 'Umar, who said: Imam al-Sadiq, peace be upon him, said: Write, and spread your knowledge among your brothers. And if you die, leave your books as an inheritance to your children; for a hard day will come upon people in which they will take comfort in nothing but their books.

«28»- وَ وَجَدْتُ بِخَطِّ الشَّيْخِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَلِيٍّ الْجُبَّائِيِّ نَقْلًا مِنْ خَطِّ الشَّهِيدِ رَحِمَهُ اللَّهُ وَ

And I found in the hand of Shaykh Muhammad b. 'Ali al-Jubba'i, quoted from the hand of al-Shahid, may God have mercy on him, and

(١)1- ضبطه ابن داود بقوله: حمدويه بفتح الحاء و الدال المهملتين و الصوت «أي ويه» ابن نصير- بفتح النون- ابن شاهي- بالمعجمة-. و عده الشيخ في رجاله ممن لم يرو عنهم عليهم السلام و قال: سمع يعقوب بن يزيد، روی عن العيّاشيّ، يكنی أبا الحسن، عديم النظير في زمانه، كثير العلم و الرواية، حسن المذهب.Ibn Dawud recorded it thus: "Hamdawayh", with fatha on the undotted ha' and dal and the sound "-wayh", son of Nusayr — with fatha on the nun — son of Shahi — with the dotted shin. The Shaykh counted him in his Rijal among those who did not relate from the Imams, peace be upon them, and said: he heard from Ya'qub b. Yazid, and al-'Ayyashi related from him; his kunya was Abu al-Hasan; he was without peer in his time, of much learning and much narration, and of sound doctrine.
