"Say: My Lord has forbidden only indecencies — whether open or hidden — and sin and wrongful oppression; and that you associate with God that for which He has sent down no authority; and that you ascribe to God what you do not know." "So who is a greater wrongdoer than one who invents falsehood against God or denies His signs?" "Was not the covenant of the Book taken from them, that they should say nothing but the truth concerning God?"

"So who is a greater wrongdoer than one who invents falsehood against God or denies His signs? Truly the sinners will not prosper." "Say: Tell me, of the provision God has sent down for you, [why] have you made part of it unlawful and part lawful? Say: Has God given you leave, or do you invent falsehood against God? And what do those who invent falsehood against God think on the Day of Resurrection? In truth God is bountiful towards people, but most of them give no thanks." "Do you ascribe to God falsely what you do not know? Say: Truly those who invent falsehood against God will not prosper. A [little] enjoyment in this world; then to Us is their return. Then We shall make them taste the severe punishment for their disbelief."

Hud: "And who is a greater wrongdoer than one who invents falsehood against God? Those will be presented before their Lord, and the witnesses will say: These are the ones who lied against their Lord. Behold, the curse of God be upon the wrongdoers."

"Only those invent falsehood who do not believe in God's signs, and it is they who are the liars." "And do not say, for what your tongues falsely describe: This is lawful and that is unlawful, in order to invent falsehood against God; for those who invent falsehood against God will not prosper. [Theirs is] a little enjoyment, but their punishment is painful."

al-Kahf: "These our people have taken gods besides Him. Why do they not bring a clear proof for [the truth of] them? So who is a greater wrongdoer than one who invents falsehood against God?"

Ta Ha: "Moses said to [the magicians]: Woe to you! Do not invent falsehood against God, lest He destroy you with a [severe] punishment; and whoever invents falsehood is disappointed."

al-Nur: "When you received it from one another's tongues and spoke with your mouths what you had no knowledge of, and you supposed it a light and simple matter, while in God's sight it was very great."

al-'Ankabut: "And they will surely bear their own burdens and [other] burdens along with their own, and on the Day of Resurrection they will surely be questioned about what they used to invent." "And who is a greater wrongdoer than one who invents falsehood against God, or denies the truth when it comes to him? Is there not a lodging in Hell for the unbelievers?"

Luqman: "Do you not know that God has made subject to you whatever is in the heavens and whatever is on the earth, and has lavished upon you His blessings, outward and inward? And among people are those who dispute about God without knowledge, without guidance and without an illuminating Book."

al-Zumar: "So who is a greater wrongdoer than one who lies against God and denies the truth when it comes to him? Is there not a lodging in Hell for the unbelievers?" "And on the Day of Resurrection you will see those who lied against God with blackened faces. Is there not in Hell a lodging for the arrogant?"
