فصل روى الشيخ الصدوق عن ابن عباس ، في خبر طويل في إخبار النبي صلى الله عليه وآله بظلم أهل البيت فمما أخبر به أن قال : وأما ابنتي فاطمة فإنها سيدة نساء العالمين من الأولين والآخرين ، وهي بضعة مني ، وهي نور عيني ، وهي ثمرة فؤادي ، وهي روحي التي بين جنبي ، وهي الحوراء الإنسية ، متى قامت في محرابها بين يدي ربها جل جلاله زهر نورها لملائكة السماء كما يزهر نور الكواكب لأهل الأرض ويقول الله عز وجل لملائكته " يا ملائكتي أنظروا إلى أمتي فاطمة سيدة إمائي ، قائمة بين يدي ترتعد فرائصها من خيفتي وقد أقبلت بقلبها إلى عبادتي ، أشهدكم أني قد أمنت شيعتها من النار " .

Section. Al-Shaykh al-Saduq related from Ibn 'Abbas, in a long report concerning the Prophet's foretelling, may God bless him and his Family, of the wrong done to the People of the House. Among what he told was that he said: As for my daughter Fatima, she is the Mistress of the Women of the Worlds, of the first of them and of the last. She is a part of me, and she is the light of my eye, and she is the fruit of my heart, and she is my spirit which is between my two sides. She is the human houri. Whenever she stands in her prayer-niche before her Lord, majestic is His majesty, her light shines for the angels of heaven as the light of the stars shines for the people of the earth; and God, mighty and exalted, says to His angels: O My angels, look upon My handmaid Fatima, the mistress of My handmaids, standing before Me, her limbs trembling from awe of Me, having turned with her heart to My worship. I call you to witness that I have made her partisans safe from the Fire.

أقول : ثم قال النبي صلى الله عليه وآله وإني لما رأيتها ذكرت ما يصنع بها بعدي ، كأني بها وقد دخل الذل بيتها ، وانتهكت حرمتها وغصب حقها ، ومنعت إرثها ، وكسر جنبها ، وأسقطت جنينها ، وهي تنادي : يا محمداه فلا تجاب ، وتستغيث فلا تغاث فلا تزال بعدي محزونة ، مكروبة ، باكية ، تتذكر انقطاع الوحي عن بيتها مرة ، وتتذكر فراقي أخرى ، وتستوحش إذا جنها الليل لفقد صوتي الذي كانت تستمع إليه إذا تهجدت بالقرآن ثم ترى نفسها ذليلة بعد أن كانت في إيام أبيها عزيزة ، فعند ذلك يؤنسها الله تعالى ذكره بالملائكة ، فنادتها بما نادت به مريم بنت عمران فتقول : " يا فاطمة إن الله اصطفاك وطهرك واصطفاك على نساء العالمين ، يا فاطمة اقنتي لربك واسجدي واركعي مع الراكعين " .

I say: then the Prophet, may God bless him and his Family, said: And when I saw her I remembered what would be done to her after me. It is as though I see her, and abasement has entered her house, and her sanctity has been violated, and her right usurped, and her inheritance withheld, and her side broken, and her unborn child miscarried, while she cries out “O Muhammad!” and is not answered, and calls for help and is not helped. She will not cease after me to be sorrowful, stricken, weeping — remembering at one time the cutting off of revelation from her house, and at another her parting from me; growing desolate when night falls upon her at the loss of my voice, which she used to listen to when I kept vigil with the Qur'an. Then she will see herself abased after she had been, in the days of her father, honoured. At that God, exalted be His remembrance, will comfort her with the angels; and they will call to her with what they called to Maryam bint 'Imran, saying: “O Fatima, truly God has chosen you and purified you and chosen you above the women of the worlds. O Fatima, be devoutly obedient to your Lord, and prostrate, and bow with those who bow.”
