يفارق روحي بدني ، قالت : وأقبل الحسين عليه السلام فأخبراه بموت يقبل رجليها ، ويقول : يا أماه أنا ابنك الحسين كلميني قبل أن ينصدع قلبي فأموت ، قالت لهما أسماء : يا بني رسول الله انطلقا إلى أبيكما علي عليه السلام فأخبراه بموت أمكما ، فخرجا يناديان : يا محمداه يا أحمداه اليوم جدد لنا موتك إذ مات أمنا ثم أخبرا عليا عليه السلام وهو في المسجد فغشي عليه حتى رش عليه الماء ثم أفاق ، وكان عليه السلام يقول بمن العزاء يا بنت محمد ؟ كنت بك أتعزى ، ففيم العزاء من بعدك ؟ 9 .

قال المسعودي : ولما قبضت عليها السلام جزع علي عليه السلام جزعا شديدا واشتد بكائه وظهر أنينه وحنينه وقال في ذلك : لكل اجتماع من خليلين فرقة وكل الذي دون الممات ( الفراق - خ ل ) قليل وإن افتقادي واحدا بعد واحد ( فاطمة بعد أحمد - خ ل ) دليل على أن لا يدوم خليل قال الراوي : فحمل علي عليه السلام الحسنين عليهما السلام حتى أدخلهما بيت فاطمة عليها السلام وعند رأسها أسماء تبكي وتقول : وايتامى محمد صلى الله عليه وآله ، كنا نتعزى بعدك ، فكشف علي عليه السلام عن وجهها فإذا برقعة عند رأسها ، فنظر فيها ، فإذا فيها : بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم هذا ما أوصت به فاطمة بنت رسول الله صلى الله عليه وآله ، أوصت وهي تشهد أن لا إله إلا الله وأن محمدا صلى الله عليه وآله عبده ورسوله ، وأن الجنة حق ، والنار حق ، وأن الساعة آتية لا ريب فيها وأن الله يبعث من في القبور ، يا علي أنا فاطمة بنت محمد صلى الله عليه وآله زوجني الله منك لأكون ذلك في الدنيا والآخرة ، أنت أولى بي من غيري ، حنطني وغسلني وكفنني بالليل وصل علي وادفني بالليل ولا تعلم أحدا وأستودعك الله واقرء على ولدي السلام إلى

Al-Mas'udi said: And when she was taken, peace be upon her, 'Ali, peace be upon him, was in a severe anguish, and his weeping grew intense and his moaning and yearning appeared; and he said concerning that: — For every gathering of two friends there is a parting, — and all that falls short of death (a variant: of separation) is little. — And my losing of one after another (a variant: of Fatima after Ahmad) — is a proof that no friend endures. The narrator said: So 'Ali, peace be upon him, carried al-Hasan and al-Husayn, peace be upon them, until he brought them into the house of Fatima, peace be upon her. And at her head was Asma', weeping and saying: And O orphans of Muhammad, may God bless him and his Family! We used to be consoled after you. So 'Ali, peace be upon him, uncovered her face, and there was a slip of paper at her head. He looked into it, and in it was: In the name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate. This is what Fatima, the daughter of the Messenger of God, may God bless him and his Family, has charged. She charged, and she bears witness that there is no god but God and that Muhammad, may God bless him and his Family, is His servant and His Messenger, and that the Garden is true and the Fire is true, and that the Hour is coming, no doubt of it, and that God raises up whoever is in the graves. O 'Ali, I am Fatima the daughter of Muhammad, may God bless him and his Family; God married me to you that I might be that in this world and the next. You are worthier of me than another. Embalm me and wash me and shroud me by night, and pray over me and bury me by night, and let no one know. And I entrust you to God, and give greeting to my children until
