ثم قالت : جزاك الله عني خير الجزاء يا بن عم رسول الله 1 .

Then she said: May God reward you on my behalf with the best of rewards, O son of the uncle of the Messenger of God. [1]

ثم أوصته بأن يتزوج بعدها أمامة بنت أختها زينب ، وأن يتخذ لها نعشا ، وأن لا يشهد أحد جنازتها من الذين ظلموا وأخذوا حقها ، وأن لا يصلي عليها أحد منهم ولا من أتباعهم وأن يدفنها بالليل إذا هدئت العيون ونامت الأبصار .

Then she charged him to marry after her Umama, the daughter of her sister Zaynab; and to make for her a bier; and that none of those who had wronged her and taken her right should attend her funeral; and that none of them nor of their followers should pray over her; and that he should bury her at night, when the eyes had quietened and the sights had gone to sleep.

وعن مصباح الأنوار ، عن أبي عبد الله عليه السلام عن آبائه عليهم السلام قال : إن فاطمة عليها السلام لما حضرت أوصت عليا عليه السلام فقالت : إذا أنامت فتول أنت غسلي وجهزني وصل علي وأنزلني في قبري وألحدني وسو التراب علي واجلس عند رأسي قبالة وجهي فأكثر من تلاوة القرآن والدعاء فإنها ساعة يحتاج الميت فيها إلى أنس الأحياء وأنا أستودعك الله تعالى وأوصيك في ولدي خيرا ، ثم ضمت إليها أم كلثوم فقالت له : إذا بلغت فلها ما في المنزل ثم الله لها ، فلما توفيته فعل ذلك أمير المؤمنين عليه السلام ، الخ 2 .

And from Misbah al-Anwar, from Abu 'Abd Allah, peace be upon him, from his forefathers, peace be upon them, he said: When Fatima, peace be upon her, was at the point of death, she charged 'Ali, peace be upon him, and said: When I die, undertake yourself my washing, and prepare me, and pray over me, and lower me into my grave, and lay me in the niche, and level the earth over me, and sit at my head facing my face, and recite much of the Qur'an and of supplication; for it is an hour in which the dead has need of the companionship of the living. And I entrust you to God, exalted, and charge you with good concerning my children. Then she drew Umm Kulthum to herself and said to him: When she comes of age, hers is what is in the house; then God is for her. And when she died, the Commander of the Faithful, peace be upon him, did that — and so on. [2]

وروي إنها قالت لأمير المؤمنين عليه السلام : إذا توفيت لا تعلم أحدا إلا أم سلمة وأم أيمن وفضة ومن الرجال ابني والعباس [ وعبد الله بن عباس خ ل ] وسلمان وعمار والمقداد وأبا ذر وحذيفة ، وقالت : إني قد أحللتك من أن تراني بعد موتي فكن مع النسوة فيمن يغسلنني ولا تدفني إلا ليلا ولا تعلم أحدا قبري 3 .

And it is related that she said to the Commander of the Faithful, peace be upon him: When I die, inform no one save Umm Salama and Umm Ayman and Fidda; and of the men, my two sons and al-'Abbas [a variant: and 'Abd Allah b. 'Abbas] and Salman and 'Ammar and al-Miqdad and Abu Dharr and Hudhayfa. And she said: I have released you from the prohibition of seeing me after my death; so be with the women among those who wash me. And do not bury me except by night, and let no one know my grave. [3]

وعن جعفر بن محمد عن آبائه عليهم السلام قال : لما حضرت فاطمة الوفاة بكت فقال لها أمير المؤمنين عليه السلام يا سيدتي ما يبكيك ؟

And from Ja'far b. Muhammad, from his forefathers, peace be upon them, he said: When death came to Fatima she wept; and the Commander of the Faithful, peace be upon him, said to her: My lady, what makes you weep?

قالت : أبكي لما تلقى بعدي قال لها لا تبكي ، فوالله إن ذلك لصغير عندي في ذات الله ، قال : وأوصته أن لا يؤذن بها الشيخين ففعل 4 .

She said: I weep for what you will meet after me. He said to her: Do not weep; for by God that is a small thing to me in the cause of God. He said: And she charged him that the two shaykhs should not be informed of her; and he did so. [4]

وروى الشيخ الطائفة ، إنه لما ثقلت فاطمة عليها السلام جائها العباس بن عبد

And the Shaykh of the Community related: that when Fatima, peace be upon her, grew grave, al-'Abbas b. 'Abd
