وَيْلٌ لِّلْمُطَفِّفِينَ۝١

1Woe to the defrauders,

ٱلَّذِينَ إِذَا ٱكْتَالُوا۟ عَلَى ٱلنَّاسِ يَسْتَوْفُونَ۝٢

2Who, when they take the measure (of their dues) from men take it fully,

وَإِذَا كَالُوهُمْ أَو وَّزَنُوهُمْ يُخْسِرُونَ۝٣

3But when they measure out to others or weigh out for them, they are deficient.

أَلَا يَظُنُّ أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ أَنَّهُم مَّبْعُوثُونَ۝٤

4Do not these think that they shall be raised again

لِيَوْمٍ عَظِيمٍ۝٥

5For a mighty day,

يَوْمَ يَقُومُ ٱلنَّاسُ لِرَبِّ ٱلْعَٰلَمِينَ۝٦

6The day on which men shall stand before the Lord of the worlds?

كَلَّآ إِنَّ كِتَٰبَ ٱلْفُجَّارِ لَفِى سِجِّينٍ۝٧

7Nay! most surely the record of the wicked is in the Sijjin.

وَمَآ أَدْرَىٰكَ مَا سِجِّينٌ۝٨

8And what will make you know what the Sijjin is?

كِتَٰبٌ مَّرْقُومٌ۝٩

9It is a written book.

وَيْلٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ لِّلْمُكَذِّبِينَ۝١٠

10Woe on that day to the rejecters,

ٱلَّذِينَ يُكَذِّبُونَ بِيَوْمِ ٱلدِّينِ۝١١

11Who give the lie to the day of judgment.

وَمَا يُكَذِّبُ بِهِۦٓ إِلَّا كُلُّ مُعْتَدٍ أَثِيمٍ۝١٢

12And none gives the lie to it but every exceeder of limits, sinful one

إِذَا تُتْلَىٰ عَلَيْهِ ءَايَٰتُنَا قَالَ أَسَٰطِيرُ ٱلْأَوَّلِينَ۝١٣

13When Our communications are recited to him, he says: Stories of those of yore.

كَلَّا ۖ بَلْ ۜ رَانَ عَلَىٰ قُلُوبِهِم مَّا كَانُوا۟ يَكْسِبُونَ۝١٤

14Nay! rather, what they used to do has become like rust upon their hearts.

كَلَّآ إِنَّهُمْ عَن رَّبِّهِمْ يَوْمَئِذٍ لَّمَحْجُوبُونَ۝١٥

15Nay! most surely they shall on that day be debarred from their Lord.

ثُمَّ إِنَّهُمْ لَصَالُوا۟ ٱلْجَحِيمِ۝١٦

16Then most surely they shall enter the burning fire.

ثُمَّ يُقَالُ هَٰذَا ٱلَّذِى كُنتُم بِهِۦ تُكَذِّبُونَ۝١٧

17Then shall it be said: This is what you gave the lie to.

كَلَّآ إِنَّ كِتَٰبَ ٱلْأَبْرَارِ لَفِى عِلِّيِّينَ۝١٨

18Nay! Most surely the record of the righteous shall be in the Iliyin.

وَمَآ أَدْرَىٰكَ مَا عِلِّيُّونَ۝١٩

19And what will make you know what the highest Iliyin is?

كِتَٰبٌ مَّرْقُومٌ۝٢٠

20It is a written book,

يَشْهَدُهُ ٱلْمُقَرَّبُونَ۝٢١

21Those who are drawn near (to Allah) shall witness it.

إِنَّ ٱلْأَبْرَارَ لَفِى نَعِيمٍ۝٢٢

22Most surely the righteous shall be in bliss,

عَلَى ٱلْأَرَآئِكِ يَنظُرُونَ۝٢٣

23On thrones, they shall gaze;

تَعْرِفُ فِى وُجُوهِهِمْ نَضْرَةَ ٱلنَّعِيمِ۝٢٤

24You will recognize in their faces the brightness of bliss.

يُسْقَوْنَ مِن رَّحِيقٍ مَّخْتُومٍ۝٢٥

25They are made to quaff of a pure drink that is sealed (to others).

خِتَٰمُهُۥ مِسْكٌ ۚ وَفِى ذَٰلِكَ فَلْيَتَنَافَسِ ٱلْمُتَنَٰفِسُونَ۝٢٦

26The sealing of it is (with) musk; and for that let the aspirers aspire.

وَمِزَاجُهُۥ مِن تَسْنِيمٍ۝٢٧

27And the admixture of it is a water of Tasnim,

عَيْنًا يَشْرَبُ بِهَا ٱلْمُقَرَّبُونَ۝٢٨

28A fountain from which drink they who are drawn near (to Allah).

إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ أَجْرَمُوا۟ كَانُوا۟ مِنَ ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ يَضْحَكُونَ۝٢٩

29Surely they who are guilty used to laugh at those who believe.

وَإِذَا مَرُّوا۟ بِهِمْ يَتَغَامَزُونَ۝٣٠

30And when they passed by them, they winked at one another.

وَإِذَا ٱنقَلَبُوٓا۟ إِلَىٰٓ أَهْلِهِمُ ٱنقَلَبُوا۟ فَكِهِينَ۝٣١

31And when they returned to their own followers they returned exulting.

وَإِذَا رَأَوْهُمْ قَالُوٓا۟ إِنَّ هَٰٓؤُلَآءِ لَضَآلُّونَ۝٣٢

32And when they saw them, they said: Most surely these are in error;

وَمَآ أُرْسِلُوا۟ عَلَيْهِمْ حَٰفِظِينَ۝٣٣

33And they were not sent to be keepers over them.

فَٱلْيَوْمَ ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ مِنَ ٱلْكُفَّارِ يَضْحَكُونَ۝٣٤

34So today those who believe shall laugh at the unbelievers;

عَلَى ٱلْأَرَآئِكِ يَنظُرُونَ۝٣٥

35On thrones, they will look.

هَلْ ثُوِّبَ ٱلْكُفَّارُ مَا كَانُوا۟ يَفْعَلُونَ۝٣٦

36Surely the disbelievers are rewarded as they did.
