وَٱلْمُرْسَلَٰتِ عُرْفًا۝١

1I swear by the emissary winds, sent one after another (for men's benefit),

فَٱلْعَٰصِفَٰتِ عَصْفًا۝٢

2By the raging hurricanes,

وَٱلنَّٰشِرَٰتِ نَشْرًا۝٣

3Which scatter clouds to their destined places,

فَٱلْفَٰرِقَٰتِ فَرْقًا۝٤

4Then separate them one from another,

فَٱلْمُلْقِيَٰتِ ذِكْرًا۝٥

5Then I swear by the angels who bring down the revelation,

عُذْرًا أَوْ نُذْرًا۝٦

6To clear or to warn.

إِنَّمَا تُوعَدُونَ لَوَٰقِعٌ۝٧

7Most surely what you are threatened with must come to pass.

فَإِذَا ٱلنُّجُومُ طُمِسَتْ۝٨

8So when the stars are made to lose their light,

وَإِذَا ٱلسَّمَآءُ فُرِجَتْ۝٩

9And when the heaven is rent asunder,

وَإِذَا ٱلْجِبَالُ نُسِفَتْ۝١٠

10And when the mountains are carried away as dust,

وَإِذَا ٱلرُّسُلُ أُقِّتَتْ۝١١

11And when the apostles are gathered at their appointed time

لِأَىِّ يَوْمٍ أُجِّلَتْ۝١٢

12To what day is the doom fixed?

لِيَوْمِ ٱلْفَصْلِ۝١٣

13To the day of decision.

وَمَآ أَدْرَىٰكَ مَا يَوْمُ ٱلْفَصْلِ۝١٤

14And what will make you comprehend what the day of decision is?

وَيْلٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ لِّلْمُكَذِّبِينَ۝١٥

15Woe on that day to the rejecters.

أَلَمْ نُهْلِكِ ٱلْأَوَّلِينَ۝١٦

16Did We not destroy the former generations?

ثُمَّ نُتْبِعُهُمُ ٱلْـَٔاخِرِينَ۝١٧

17Then did We follow them up with later ones.

كَذَٰلِكَ نَفْعَلُ بِٱلْمُجْرِمِينَ۝١٨

18Even thus shall We deal with the guilty.

وَيْلٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ لِّلْمُكَذِّبِينَ۝١٩

19Woe on that day to the rejecters.

أَلَمْ نَخْلُقكُّم مِّن مَّآءٍ مَّهِينٍ۝٢٠

20Did We not create you from contemptible water?

فَجَعَلْنَٰهُ فِى قَرَارٍ مَّكِينٍ۝٢١

21Then We placed it in a secure resting-place,

إِلَىٰ قَدَرٍ مَّعْلُومٍ۝٢٢

22Till an appointed term,

فَقَدَرْنَا فَنِعْمَ ٱلْقَٰدِرُونَ۝٢٣

23So We proportion it-- how well are We at proportioning (things).

وَيْلٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ لِّلْمُكَذِّبِينَ۝٢٤

24Woe on that day to the rejecters.

أَلَمْ نَجْعَلِ ٱلْأَرْضَ كِفَاتًا۝٢٥

25Have We not made the earth to draw together to itself,

أَحْيَآءً وَأَمْوَٰتًا۝٢٦

26The living and the dead,

وَجَعَلْنَا فِيهَا رَوَٰسِىَ شَٰمِخَٰتٍ وَأَسْقَيْنَٰكُم مَّآءً فُرَاتًا۝٢٧

27And made therein lofty mountains, and given you to drink of sweet water?

وَيْلٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ لِّلْمُكَذِّبِينَ۝٢٨

28Woe on that day to the rejecters.

ٱنطَلِقُوٓا۟ إِلَىٰ مَا كُنتُم بِهِۦ تُكَذِّبُونَ۝٢٩

29Walk on to that which you called a lie.

ٱنطَلِقُوٓا۟ إِلَىٰ ظِلٍّ ذِى ثَلَٰثِ شُعَبٍ۝٣٠

30Walk on to the covering having three branches,

لَّا ظَلِيلٍ وَلَا يُغْنِى مِنَ ٱللَّهَبِ۝٣١

31Neither having the coolness of the shade nor availing against the flame.

إِنَّهَا تَرْمِى بِشَرَرٍ كَٱلْقَصْرِ۝٣٢

32Surely it sends up sparks like palaces,

كَأَنَّهُۥ جِمَٰلَتٌ صُفْرٌ۝٣٣

33As if they were tawny camels.

وَيْلٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ لِّلْمُكَذِّبِينَ۝٣٤

34Woe on that day to the rejecters.

هَٰذَا يَوْمُ لَا يَنطِقُونَ۝٣٥

35This is the day on which they shall not speak,

وَلَا يُؤْذَنُ لَهُمْ فَيَعْتَذِرُونَ۝٣٦

36And permission shall not be given to them so that they should offer excuses.

وَيْلٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ لِّلْمُكَذِّبِينَ۝٣٧

37Woe on that day to the rejecters.

هَٰذَا يَوْمُ ٱلْفَصْلِ ۖ جَمَعْنَٰكُمْ وَٱلْأَوَّلِينَ۝٣٨

38This is the day of decision: We have gathered you and those of yore.

فَإِن كَانَ لَكُمْ كَيْدٌ فَكِيدُونِ۝٣٩

39So if you have a plan, plan against Me (now).

وَيْلٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ لِّلْمُكَذِّبِينَ۝٤٠

40Woe on that day to the rejecters.

إِنَّ ٱلْمُتَّقِينَ فِى ظِلَٰلٍ وَعُيُونٍ۝٤١

41Surely those who guard (against evil) shall be amid shades and fountains,

وَفَوَٰكِهَ مِمَّا يَشْتَهُونَ۝٤٢

42And fruits such as they desire.

كُلُوا۟ وَٱشْرَبُوا۟ هَنِيٓـًٔۢا بِمَا كُنتُمْ تَعْمَلُونَ۝٤٣

43Eat and drink pleasantly because of what you did.

إِنَّا كَذَٰلِكَ نَجْزِى ٱلْمُحْسِنِينَ۝٤٤

44Surely thus do We reward the doers of good.

وَيْلٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ لِّلْمُكَذِّبِينَ۝٤٥

45Woe on that day to the rejecters.

كُلُوا۟ وَتَمَتَّعُوا۟ قَلِيلًا إِنَّكُم مُّجْرِمُونَ۝٤٦

46Eat and enjoy yourselves for a little; surely you are guilty.

وَيْلٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ لِّلْمُكَذِّبِينَ۝٤٧

47Woe on that day to the rejecters.

وَإِذَا قِيلَ لَهُمُ ٱرْكَعُوا۟ لَا يَرْكَعُونَ۝٤٨

48And where it is said to them: Bow down, they do not bow down.

وَيْلٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ لِّلْمُكَذِّبِينَ۝٤٩

49Woe on that day to the rejecters.

فَبِأَىِّ حَدِيثٍۭ بَعْدَهُۥ يُؤْمِنُونَ۝٥٠

50In what announcement, then, after it, will they believe?
