أَلْهَىٰكُمُ ٱلتَّكَاثُرُ۝١

1Abundance diverts you,

حَتَّىٰ زُرْتُمُ ٱلْمَقَابِرَ۝٢

2Until you come to the graves.

كَلَّا سَوْفَ تَعْلَمُونَ۝٣

3Nay! you shall soon know,

ثُمَّ كَلَّا سَوْفَ تَعْلَمُونَ۝٤

4Nay! Nay! you shall soon know.

كَلَّا لَوْ تَعْلَمُونَ عِلْمَ ٱلْيَقِينِ۝٥

5Nay! if you had known with a certain knowledge,

لَتَرَوُنَّ ٱلْجَحِيمَ۝٦

6You should most certainly have seen the hell;

ثُمَّ لَتَرَوُنَّهَا عَيْنَ ٱلْيَقِينِ۝٧

7Then you shall most certainly see it with the eye of certainty;

ثُمَّ لَتُسْـَٔلُنَّ يَوْمَئِذٍ عَنِ ٱلنَّعِيمِ۝٨

8Then on that day you shall most certainly be questioned about the boons.
