ٱلْقَارِعَةُ۝١

1The terrible calamity!

مَا ٱلْقَارِعَةُ۝٢

2What is the terrible calamity!

وَمَآ أَدْرَىٰكَ مَا ٱلْقَارِعَةُ۝٣

3And what will make you comprehend what the terrible calamity is?

يَوْمَ يَكُونُ ٱلنَّاسُ كَٱلْفَرَاشِ ٱلْمَبْثُوثِ۝٤

4The day on which men shall be as scattered moths,

وَتَكُونُ ٱلْجِبَالُ كَٱلْعِهْنِ ٱلْمَنفُوشِ۝٥

5And the mountains shall be as loosened wool.

فَأَمَّا مَن ثَقُلَتْ مَوَٰزِينُهُۥ۝٦

6Then as for him whose measure of good deeds is heavy,

فَهُوَ فِى عِيشَةٍ رَّاضِيَةٍ۝٧

7He shall live a pleasant life.

وَأَمَّا مَنْ خَفَّتْ مَوَٰزِينُهُۥ۝٨

8And as for him whose measure of good deeds is light,

فَأُمُّهُۥ هَاوِيَةٌ۝٩

9His abode shall be the abyss.

وَمَآ أَدْرَىٰكَ مَا هِيَهْ۝١٠

10And what will make you know what it is?

نَارٌ حَامِيَةٌۢ۝١١

11A burning fire.
