«38»- ير، بصائر الدرجات عَبَّادُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ عَنْ سَعْدِ بْنِ سَعْدٍ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ فُضَيْلٍ عَنْ أَبِي الْحَسَنِ عليه السلام فِي قَوْلِ اللَّهِ عَزَّ وَ جَلَّ وَ مَنْ أَضَلُّ مِمَّنِ اتَّبَعَ هَواهُ بِغَيْرِ هُدىً مِنَ اللَّهِ يَعْنِي اتَّخَذَ هَوَاهُ دِينَهُ بِغَيْرِ هُدًى مِنْ أَئِمَّةِ الْهُدَى.

Basa'ir al-Darajat: Muhammad b. Fudayl from Abu al-Hasan, peace be upon him, in the interpretation of this verse "And who is more astray than one who follows his desire without guidance from God?" said: That is, one whose desire of soul and whose opinion, without the guidance of the Imams, peace be upon them, is his religion.

«39»- ثو، ثواب الأعمال ابْنُ الْمُتَوَكِّلِ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ جَعْفَرٍ عَنِ النَّخَعِيِّ عَنِ النَّوْفَلِيِّ عَنِ السَّكُونِيِّ عَنِ الصَّادِقِ عَنْ آبَائِهِ عَنْ أَمِيرِ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ صَلَوَاتُ اللَّهِ عَلَيْهِمْ قَالَ: يُجَاءُ بِأَصْحَابِ الْبِدَعِ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ فَتَرَى الْقَدَرِيَّةَ مِنْ بَيْنِهِمْ كَالشَّامَةِ الْبَيْضَاءِ فِي الثَّوْرِ الْأَسْوَدِ فَيَقُولُ اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَ جَلَّ مَا أَرَدْتُمْ فَيَقُولُونَ أَرَدْنَا وَجْهَكَ فَيَقُولُ قَدْ أَقَلْتُكُمْ عَثَرَاتِكُمْ وَ غَفَرْتُ لَكُمْ زَلَّاتِكُمْ إِلَّا الْقَدَرِيَّةَ فَإِنَّهُمْ دَخَلُوا فِي الشِّرْكِ مِنْ حَيْثُ لَا يَعْلَمُونَ.

Thawab al-A'mal: Imam al-Sadiq, peace be upon him, related from his fathers, peace be upon them, that the Commander of the Faithful, peace be upon him, said: The innovators will be brought on the Day of Resurrection, and the Qadarites will be distinguishable among them like a white blaze on a black ox. Then God, Mighty and Majestic, will say to the innovators: What were you seeking [by your innovation]? They will say: We desired Your good pleasure. God will say: I have overlooked your slips and forgiven your errors — except the Qadarites; for they certainly associated partners with God from a quarter of which they had no knowledge.

بيان: يطلق القدرية على المجبرة و علی المفوضة المنكرين لقضاء اللّٰه و قدره و الظاهر أن المراد هنا هو الثاني و سيأتي تحقيقه و المراد بسائر أرباب البدع من عمل بدعة على جهالة يعذر بها من غير أن يكون ذلك سببا لفساد دينه و كفره كما يومي إليه آخر الخبر.

The word "Qadarites" is used both of the determinists and of the delegationists who deny God's decree and destiny, and what is meant here by the rest of the innovators is the excused ignorant who have acted upon innovation out of ignorance. But it must be noted that this acting upon innovation was not such as to cause corruption in religion and their unbelief, as the end of the report indicates.

«40»- ك، إكمال الدين ابْنُ عِصَامٍ ١ عَنِ الْكُلَيْنِيِّ عَنِ الْقَاسِمِ بْنِ الْعَلَاءِ عَنْ إِسْمَاعِيلَ بْنِ عَلِيٍّ عَنِ ابْنِ حُمَيْدٍ ٢ عَنِ ابْنِ قَيْسٍ٣عَنِ الثُّمَالِيِّ قَالَ قَالَ عَلِيُّ بْنُ الْحُسَيْنِ عليهما السلام إِنَّ دِينَ اللَّهِ لَا يُصَابُ بِالْعُقُولِ النَّاقِصَةِ وَ الْآرَاءِ الْبَاطِلَةِ وَ الْمَقَايِيسِ الْفَاسِدَةِ وَ لَا يُصَابُ إِلَّا بِالتَّسْلِيمِ فَمَنْ سَلَّمَ لَنَا سَلِمَ وَ مَنِ اهْتَدَى بِنَا هُدِیَ وَ مَنْ دَانَ بِالْقِيَاسِ وَ الرَّأْيِ هَلَكَ وَ مَنْ وَجَدَ فِي نَفْسِهِ شَيْئاً مِمَّا نَقُولُهُ أَوْ نَقْضِي بِهِ حَرَجاً كَفَرَ بِالَّذِي أَنْزَلَ السَّبْعَ الْمَثَانِيَ وَ الْقُرْآنَ الْعَظِيمَ وَ هُوَ لَا يَعْلَمُ.

Ikmal al-Din: Abu Hamza al-Thumali related from al-Imam al-Sajjad, peace be upon him, that he said: Truly the religion of God, Mighty and Majestic, is not grasped by deficient intellects and is not attained by false opinions and corrupt analogies. The means of grasping it is submission: whoever submits to us remains safe, whoever follows us is guided, and whoever acts by analogy and opinion perishes. And whoever finds in his heart any difficulty or hesitation concerning what we say and rule — by that God who sent down the seven oft-repeated verses and the mighty Qur'an, he has unknowingly become an unbeliever and does not know it.

بيان: حرجا بدل من قوله شيئا و لفظة من في قوله مما نقوله تعليلية.

"Harajan" is in apposition to "shay'an", and the word "min" in his words "mimma naquluhu" is causal.

«41»- ثو، ثواب الأعمال ابْنُ الْوَلِيدِ عَنِ الصَّفَّارِ عَنِ ابْنِ يَزِيدَ عَنْ حَمَّادٍ عَنْ حَرِيزٍ رَفَعَهُ قَالَ: كُلُّ بِدْعَةٍ ضَلَالَةٌ وَ كُلُّ ضَلَالَةٍ سَبِيلُهَا إِلَى النَّارِ.

Thawab al-A'mal: The Infallible, peace be upon him, said: Every innovation is misguidance, and every misguidance leads to the Fire.

سن، المحاسن ابن يزيد مثله.

Al-Mahasin: Ibn Yazid related the like of it.
