that person brings you such a report, do not call it a lie, for in reality you are calling me a liar.
Abu Basir related from Imam al-Baqir or Imam al-Sadiq, peace be upon them both: I heard him saying: If a Murji'ite, a Qadarite or a Kharijite brings you a hadith ascribed to us, do not call it a lie; for you do not know — perhaps that hadith is true and you have called God, exalted, a liar above His Throne. — Here ends what was extracted from the book al-Basa'ir.

Hadith 112.
And likewise in his hand, he says: Al-Safwani, may God have mercy on him, related in his book without a chain from Imam al-Rida, peace be upon him, that he said: Worship has seventy aspects, sixty-nine of which lie in contentment with and submission to God, mighty and exalted, the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, and those in authority.
Nahj al-Balagha: Imam 'Ali, peace be upon him, said: Truly our cause — the walaya of the People of the House of the Prophet, peace be upon them — is hard and difficult to bear; none has the power to accept and bear it but a religious believer whom God has tested and whose faith is firm in his heart. And none grasps our hadith but trustworthy breasts and forbearing minds.
Munyat al-Murid: The Messenger of God, may God bless him and his family, said: Whoever rejects a hadith that has reached him from us, I shall be his adversary on the Day of Resurrection. So when a hadith from us reaches you and you have no knowledge of it, say: God knows better.
The Messenger of God, may God bless him and his family, said: Whoever lies against us deliberately, or rejects something we have commanded, let him prepare his place in a house in Hell.
The Messenger of God, may God bless him and his family, said: Whoever receives a hadith from us and calls it a lie has called three things lies: God, His Messenger, and the one who related it to him.
Chapter 27: The reason why the Imams, peace be upon them, concealed some of the sciences and rulings
Basa'ir al-Darajat: Dharih says: I heard Imam al-Sadiq, peace be upon him, saying: My father, may God have mercy on him, was an excellent father; he used always to say: If I were to find three persons, I would entrust knowledge to them, for they are worthy of it, and I would say things such that, with them, there would be no need to reflect and ponder over the lawful and the unlawful until the Day of Resurrection. Truly our hadith and our words
