Al-Mahasin: 'Abd Allah al-Kahili says: Imam al-Sadiq, peace be upon him, said: If a people worship God without associating anything with Him, perform the prayer, pay the alms, make the pilgrimage to God's House and fast the month of Ramadan, yet say concerning something God and the Prophet have done: Why did he not do the opposite of this? — or if such a thought crosses their hearts even if they do not utter it — they become idolaters by that. Then he recited the verse "But no, by your Lord, they will not believe until they make you judge in what is in dispute among them, and then find within themselves no discomfort at what you have decided, and submit in full submission", and said: You must hold to submission.
شی، تفسير العياشي عن الكاهلي مثله بيان أي فو ربك و لا مزيدة لتوكيد القسم.
Tafsir al-'Ayyashi: Al-Kahili related the like of it.
"Fa-la wa rabbika": that is, by your Lord — and "la" is redundant, for the emphasis of the oath. And God's words "shajara baynahum" mean that they differ among themselves. And God's words "harajan mimma qadayta" mean that no straitness arise in him from what you have ruled, or from your ruling, or that no doubt find its way into his heart. And "wa yusallimu taslima" means that they submit to you outwardly and inwardly.

Al-Mahasin: Muhammad b. Sinan related from Imam al-Sadiq, peace be upon him, concerning the verse "God and His angels send blessings upon the Prophet. O you who believe, send blessings upon him and submit fully": I asked him, and he said: It means send blessings upon the Prophet and be submissive to him. I said: How do the prophets know that they are prophets? He said: The veil is drawn aside from before his eyes. I said: How is it known that someone is a believer? He said: In every event that befalls him he submits to God and is content with the joy and the sorrow that come to him.

Al-Khara'ij wa al-Jara'ih: Al-Husayn b. 'Alwan relates from Imam al-Sadiq, peace be upon him: He said: God preferred the prophets of firm resolve over the other prophets by their knowledge, and we inherited their knowledge, and God gave us excellence over them in merit; and He taught the Messenger of God, may God bless him and his family, things of which the other prophets had no knowledge. And He made us aware of the knowledge of the Messenger of God, may God bless him and his family, and we related them to our Shi'a;
