And al-Hasan b. Sulayman related the like of that hadith in Kitab al-Muhtadar, from Kitab al-Shifa' wa al-Jala'.

Basa'ir al-Darajat: Abu Basir relates from Imam al-Baqir, peace be upon him, that he said: Do not call anyone's hadith a lie, for you do not know — perhaps that hadith is true, and you would then have called God a liar above His Throne.

Basa'ir al-Darajat: 'Ali al-Sa'i relates from Abu al-Hasan, peace be upon him, that he wrote thus in a letter:

Do not say of what reaches you from us or is ascribed to us that it is false, even if you have knowledge to the contrary; for you do not know why, in what respect or in what manner we said it.

Basa'ir al-Darajat: Abu 'Ubayda al-Hadhdha' says: I heard Imam al-Baqir, peace be upon him, say: The dearest of my companions to me, with regard to our hadith, is the most God-fearing of them, the most learned, and the most careful to conceal our hadith; and the worst of them in state and the most hateful to us is one who hears a hadith ascribed to us and related from us, yet does not understand it and does not accept it, and his heart denies and recoils from it — and this leads to unbelief, while he does not know. Perhaps we did say that hadith, and by denying it he goes out of our walaya.

Al-Sara'ir: The like of it is related from Kitab al-Mashyakha of Ibn Mahbub.

Basa'ir al-Darajat: Ishaq b. 'Abd Allah relates from Imam al-Sadiq, peace be upon him, that he said: In two verses of the Qur'an God has forbidden His servants two things: first, do not say anything without knowledge; second, do not reject anything without knowledge. God, exalted, says: "Was not the covenant of the Book taken from them, that they should say nothing but the truth concerning God, while they have studied what is in it?" And he adduced God's words: "Rather, they belied what they could not encompass in knowledge, and whose interpretation had not yet come to them."

Elucidation: "Al-tahsin" means prohibition — that is, God has forbidden His servants and placed them in a fortress which they may not overstep

The author of al-Tanqih says: it is an ascription to Saya, one of the villages of the noble Medina; and it is said that it is a village at Mecca — may God increase its honour — and it is said that it is a valley between the two sanctuaries. Ibn Sida says: it is a great valley in which more than seventy streams run, where the Banu Sulaym and Muzayna encamp. End. Al-Najashi chose the first; and apparently, on the indication of Hamza b. Bazi''s relating from him, he is 'Ali b. Suwayd al-Sa'i, of the companions of Musa b. Ja'far and al-Rida, peace be upon them both.
He is Ishaq b. 'Abd Allah b. Sa'd b. Malik al-Ash'ari al-Qummi, trustworthy; Mawla Salih stated this explicitly in his commentary on al-Kafi. And perhaps the Yunus who relates from him is Yunus b. Ya'qub, according to what appears from al-Kazimi's Mushtarakat.
