الصدوق حدثنا أبو الحسن محمد بن عمرو بن علي بن عبد اللّٰه البصري بإيلاق قال حدثنا أبو عبد اللّٰه محمد بن عبد اللّٰه بن أحمد بن جبلة الواعظ قال حدثنا أبو القاسم عبد اللّٰه بن أحمد بن عامر الطائي قال حدثنا أبي قال حدثنا علي بن موسى الرضا عن آبائه عن الحسين بن علي عن أمير المؤمنين صلوات اللّٰه عليهم أجمعين.

al-Saduq: There related to us Abu al-Hasan Muhammad b. 'Amr b. 'Ali b. 'Abd Allah al-Basri, at Ilaq, who said: There related to us Abu 'Abd Allah Muhammad b. 'Abd Allah b. Ahmad b. Jabala al-Wa'iz, who said: There related to us Abu al-Qasim 'Abd Allah b. Ahmad b. 'Amir al-Ta'i, who said: There related to us my father, who said: There related to us 'Ali b. Musa al-Rida, from his forefathers, from al-Husayn b. 'Ali, from the Commander of the Faithful, God's blessings be upon them all.

و كل ما كان فيه الأربعمائة فهو ما رواه الصدوق في الخصال عن أبيه عن سعد بن عبد اللّٰه عن محمد بن عيسى اليقطيني عن القاسم بن يحيى عن جده الحسن بن راشد عن أبي بصير و محمد بن مسلم عن أبي عبد اللّٰه عليه السلام قال حدثني أبي عن جده عن آبائه عليهم السلام أن أمير المؤمنين صلوات اللّٰه عليه علم أصحابه في مجلس واحد أربعمائة باب مما يصلح للمؤمن في دينه و دنياه و سيأتي بتمامه في المجلد الرابع.

And whatever occurs in it as the Four Hundred is what al-Saduq related in al-Khisal from his father, from Sa'd b. 'Abd Allah, from Muhammad b. 'Isa al-Yaqtini, from al-Qasim b. Yahya, from his grandfather al-Hasan b. Rashid, from Abu Basir and Muhammad b. Muslim, from Abu 'Abd Allah, peace be upon him, who said: There related to me my father, from his grandfather, from his forefathers, peace be upon them, that the Commander of the Faithful, God's blessings be upon him, taught his companions in a single sitting four hundred chapters of what is of benefit to the believer in his religion and his worldly life. It will come in full in the fourth volume.

و كل ما كان فيه بالإسناد إلى دارم فهو ما رواه الصدوق عن محمد بن أحمد بن الحسين بن يوسف البغدادي الوراق عن علي بن محمد بن جعفر بن أحمد بن عنبسة مولى الرشيد عن دارم بن قبيصة بن نهشل بن مجمع الصنعاني. و كل ما كان فيه المفسر بإسناده إلى أبي محمد عليه السلام فهو ما رواه الصدوق عن محمد بن القاسم الجرجاني المفسر عن أبي يعقوب يوسف بن محمد بن زياد و أبي الحسن علي بن محمد بن سيار و كانا من الشيعة الإمامية عن أبويهما عن الحسن بن علي بن محمد عليه السلام

And whatever occurs in it with the chain to Darim is what al-Saduq related from Muhammad b. Ahmad b. al-Husayn b. Yusuf al-Baghdadi al-Warraq, from 'Ali b. Muhammad b. Ja'far b. Ahmad b. 'Anbasa, client of al-Rashid, from Darim b. Qabisa b. Nahshal b. Majma' al-San'ani. And whatever occurs in it as al-Mufassir with his chain to Abu Muhammad, peace be upon him, is what al-Saduq related from Muhammad b. al-Qasim al-Jurjani al-Mufassir, from Abu Ya'qub Yusuf b. Muhammad b. Ziyad and Abu al-Hasan 'Ali b. Muhammad b. Sayyar — the two of them being of the Imami Shi'a — from their fathers, from al-Hasan b. 'Ali b. Muhammad, peace be upon him.

و كل ما كان فيه ابن المغيرة بإسناده فالسند هكذا جعفر بن علي بن الحسن الكوفي قال حدثني جدي الحسن بن علي بن عبد اللّٰه عن جده عبد اللّٰه بن المغيرة و قد نعبر عن هذا السند هكذا ابن المغيرة عن جده عن جده.

And whatever occurs in it as Ibn al-Mughira with his chain — the chain is thus: Ja'far b. 'Ali b. al-Hasan al-Kufi, who said: There related to me my grandfather al-Hasan b. 'Ali b. 'Abd Allah, from his grandfather 'Abd Allah b. al-Mughira. We may express this chain thus: Ibn al-Mughira, from his grandfather, from his grandfather.

و كل ما كان فيه ابن البرقي عن أبيه عن جده فهو علي بن أحمد بن عبد اللّٰه بن أحمد بن أبي عبد اللّٰه البرقي عن أبيه عن جده أحمد.

And whatever occurs in it as Ibn al-Barqi, from his father, from his grandfather — it is 'Ali b. Ahmad b. 'Abd Allah b. Ahmad b. Abi 'Abd Allah al-Barqi, from his father, from his grandfather Ahmad.

و كل ما كان فيه فيما أوصى به النبي صلى اللّٰه عليه و آله إلى علي عليه السلام فهو ما رواه الصدوق عن محمد بن علي بن الشاه عن أحمد بن محمد بن الحسين عن أحمد بن خالد الخالدي عن محمد بن أحمد بن صالح التميمي عن أنس بن محمد بن أبي مالك عن أبيه عن جعفر بن محمد عن أبيه عن جده عن علي بن أبي طالب عليهما السلام و رواه في كتاب مكارم الأخلاق

And whatever occurs in it among what the Prophet — may God bless him and his family — enjoined upon 'Ali, peace be upon him, is what al-Saduq related from Muhammad b. 'Ali b. al-Shah, from Ahmad b. Muhammad b. al-Husayn, from Ahmad b. Khalid al-Khalidi, from Muhammad b. Ahmad b. Salih al-Tamimi, from Anas b. Muhammad b. Abi Malik, from his father, from Ja'far b. Muhammad, from his father, from his grandfather, from 'Ali b. Abi Talib, peace be upon them both. And he related it in the Kitab Makarim al-Akhlaq
