و كتاب الديوان انتسابه إليه صلوات اللّٰه عليه مشهور و كثير من الأشعار المذكورة فيها مروية في سائر الكتب و يشكل الحكم بصحة جميعها و يستفاد من معالم ابن شهرآشوب أنه تأليف علي بن أحمد الأديب النيسابوري من علمائنا و النجاشي عد من كتب عبد العزيز بن يحيى الجلودي كتاب شعر علي عليه السلام.
As for the Book of the Diwan, its attribution to him, God's blessings be upon him, is well known, and many of the verses set down in it are transmitted in other books; yet it is difficult to judge the whole of it sound. From the Ma'alim of Ibn Shahrashub it may be gathered that it is the composition of 'Ali b. Ahmad al-Adib al-Naysaburi, one of our scholars; and al-Najashi counted among the books of 'Abd al-'Aziz b. Yahya al-Juludi a Book of the Poetry of 'Ali, peace be upon him.
و كتاب الشهاب و إن كان من مؤلفات المخالفين لكن أكثر فقراتها مذكورة في الكتب و الأخبار المروية من طرقنا و لذا اعتمد عليه علماؤنا و تصدوا لشرحه و قال الشيخ منتجب الدين السيد فخر الدين شميلة بن محمد بن أبي هاشم الحسيني عالم صالح روى لنا كتاب الشهاب للقاضي أبي عبد اللّٰه محمد بن سلامة بن جعفر القضاعي عنه.
As for the Book of al-Shihab, although it is among the compositions of those who differ from us, most of its clauses are set down in the books and reports transmitted by our paths; for that reason our scholars relied upon it and undertook to comment upon it. Al-Shaykh Muntajab al-Din said: "Al-Sayyid Fakhr al-Din Shumayla b. Muhammad b. Abi Hashim al-Husayni, a righteous scholar; he transmitted to us the Book of al-Shihab of the judge Abu 'Abd Allah Muhammad b. Salama b. Ja'far al-Quda'i, from him."
و الشيخ أبو الفتوح في الفضل مشهور و كتبه معروفة مألوفة.
Al-Shaykh Abu al-Futuh is well known for learning, and his books are recognised and familiar.
و كتاب الأنوار البدرية مشتمل على بعض الفوائد الجلية.
The Book of al-Anwar al-Badriyya contains some evident benefits.
و تاريخ بلدة قم كتاب معتبر لكن لم يتيسر لنا أصل الكتاب و إنما وصل إلينا ترجمته و قد أخرجنا بعض أخباره في كتاب السماء و العالم.
The History of the City of Qum is a reliable book, but the original of the book was not available to us; only its translation reached us, and we have extracted some of its reports in the Book of the Heavens and the World.
و أجوبة سؤالات ابن سلام أوردناها في محالها.
The answers to the questions of Ibn Salam we have set down in their places.
و كتاب طب النبي صلى اللّٰه عليه و آله و إن كان أكثر أخباره من طرق المخالفين لكنه مشهور متداول بين علمائنا قال نصير الملة و الدين الطوسي في كتاب آداب المتعلمين و لا بد من أن يتعلم شيئا من الطب و يتبرك بالآثار الواردة في الطب الذي جمعه الشيخ الإمام أبو العباس المستغفري في كتابه المسمى بطب النبي صلى اللّٰه عليه و آله.
As for the Book of Tibb al-Nabi, may God bless him and his family, although most of its reports are by the paths of those who differ from us, it is well known and in circulation among our scholars. Nasir al-Milla wa'l-Din al-Tusi said in the Book of Adab al-Muta'allimin: "He must learn something of medicine and seek blessing in the traditions handed down on medicine which the Shaykh and Imam Abu al-'Abbas al-Mustaghfiri gathered in his book entitled Tibb al-Nabi, may God bless him and his family."
و المحقق الأردبيلي في الورع و التقوي و الزهد و الفضل بلغ الغاية القصوى و لم أسمع بمثله في المتقدمين و المتأخرين جمع اللّٰه بينه و بين الأئمة الطاهرين و كتبه في غاية التدقيق و التحقيق.
Al-Muhaqqiq al-Ardabili reached the utmost limit in scrupulousness, godfearing, asceticism and learning; I have not heard of his like among the earlier or the later scholars. May God join him with the pure Imams. His books are of the utmost exactitude and investigation.
و الخليل و الصاحب كانا من الإمامية و هما علمان في اللغة و العروض و العربية و الصاحب هو الذي صدر الصدوق عيون أخبار الرضا عليه السلام باسمه و أهداه إليه.
Al-Khalil and al-Sahib were both of the Imamiyya, and both are landmarks in lexicography, prosody and Arabic. Al-Sahib is he in whose name al-Saduq prefaced 'Uyun Akhbar al-Rida, peace be upon him, and to whom he presented it.
و الشواهد كتاب جيد مشتمل على بيان نزول الآيات في أهل البيت عليهم السلام
Al-Shawahid is a good book containing an exposition of the revelation of the verses concerning the People of the House, peace be upon them,
