وعن مصباح الأنوار ، عن أبي عبد الله عن آبائه عليهم السلام : أن أمير المؤمنين عليه السلام لما وضع فاطمة بنت رسول الله صلى الله عليهما وآلهما في القبر قال : بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم بسم الله وبالله وعلى ملة رسول الله محمد بن عبد الله صلى عليه وآله ، سلمتك أيتها الصديقة إلى من هو أولى بك مني ورضيت لك بما رضي الله تعالى لك ، ثم قرء * ( منها خلقناكم وفيها نعيدكم ومنها نخرجكم تارة أخرى ) * ، فلما سوى عليها التراب أمر بقبرها فرش عليه الماء ، ثم جلس عند قبرها باكيا حزينا ، فأخذ العباس بيده فانصرف به 23 .

And from Misbah al-Anwar, from Abu 'Abd Allah, from his forefathers, peace be upon them: that the Commander of the Faithful, peace be upon him, when he laid Fatima, the daughter of the Messenger of God, God bless them both and their families, in the grave, said: In the name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate. In the name of God, and by God, and upon the creed of the Messenger of God, Muhammad b. 'Abd Allah, may He bless him and his Family. I have delivered you up, O most truthful one, to Him who is worthier of you than I, and I have been content for you with what God, exalted, has been content for you. Then he recited: “From it We created you, and into it We return you, and from it We shall bring you forth another time.” And when he had levelled the earth over her, he commanded her grave and water was sprinkled upon it. Then he sat at her grave weeping and grieving; and al-'Abbas took his hand and led him away. [23]

[ مناقشة عمر مع علي عليه السلام ] قال الراوي : وأصبح البقيع ليلة دفنت " سلام الله عليها " وفيه أربعون قبرا جددا وإن المسلمين لما علموا وفاتها جاؤوا إلى البقيع فوجدوا فيه أربعين قبرا فأشكل عليهم قبرها من سائر القبور فضج الناس ولام بعضهم بعضا وقالوا : لم يخلف نبيكم فيكم إلا بنتا واحدة تموت وتدفن ولم تحضروا وفاتها والصلاة عليها ولا تعرفوا قبرها ، ثم قال ولاة الأمر منهم : هاتم من نساء المسلمين من ينبش هذه القبور حتى نجدها فنصلي عليها ونزور قبرها .

['Umar's dispute with 'Ali, peace be upon him] The narrator said: And al-Baqi', on the night she was buried, “the peace of God be upon her”, rose with forty new graves in it. And when the Muslims learned of her death they came to al-Baqi' and found in it forty graves; and her grave was confused for them among the rest of the graves. So the people clamoured and blamed one another and said: Your Prophet left among you only one daughter; she dies and is buried, and you did not attend her death nor the prayer over her, and you do not know her grave. Then the holders of the affair among them said: Bring from the women of the Muslims those who will dig up these graves until we find her, that we may pray over her and visit her grave.

فبلغ ذلك أمير المؤمنين عليه السلام ، فخرج مغضبا قد احمرت عيناه ودرت أوداجه وعليه قباه الأصفر الذي كان يلبسه في كل كريهة وهو متكأ على سيفه ذي الفقار حتى ورد البقيع فسار إلى الناس النذير وقالوا : هذا علي بن أبي طالب قد أقبل كما ترونه يقسم بالله لئن حول من هذه القبر حجر ليضعن السيف على غابر الآخر .

And that reached the Commander of the Faithful, peace be upon him. So he went out in anger, his eyes reddened and the veins of his neck swollen, wearing his yellow tunic that he used to wear at every grim encounter, leaning upon his sword Dhu al-Fiqar, until he came to al-Baqi'. And the warner hastened to the people and they said: This is 'Ali b. Abi Talib; he has come as you see him, swearing by God that if a stone of these graves is moved, he will set the sword upon the last of them.

فتلقاه عمر ومن معه من أصحابه وقال له : ما لك يا أبا الحسن ؟

So 'Umar met him, and those of his companions who were with him, and said to him: What ails you, O Abu al-Hasan?

والله لننبشن قبرها ولنصلين عليها ، فضرب علي عليه السلام بيده إلى جوامع ثوبه فهزه ثم ضرب

By God, we shall dig up her grave and we shall pray over her. So 'Ali, peace be upon him, struck his hand to the gathers of his garment and shook him, then dashed
