بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم الحمد لله ناصر المظلومين ، وقاصم الجبابرة ، ومبير الظالمين ، والصلاة والسلام على من أرسله رحمة للعالمين ، محمد سيد الأولين والآخرين ، وعلى آله وعترته هداة العالمين .

In the name of God, the Most Merciful, the Most Compassionate. Praise belongs to God, helper of the wronged, breaker of tyrants, destroyer of the oppressors; and blessing and peace upon him whom He sent as a mercy to the worlds, Muhammad, master of the first and of the last, and upon his Family and his kindred, the guides of the worlds.

وبعد فيقول : راجي عفو ربه الغني عباس بن محمد رضا القمي عاملهما الله بلطفه الخفي ، والجلي ، هذه رسالة مختصرة في ذكر أحوال سيدة نساء العالمين ، وبضعة خاتم النبيين ، وأم الأئمة الطاهرين ، أطهر النساء ، ووارثة سيد الأنبياء ، وقرينة سيد الأوصياء ، الإنسية الحوراء ، والبتول العذراء ، السيدة الشهيدة ، المظلومة المقهورة ، فاطمة الزهراء صلوات الله عليها وعلى أبيها وبعلها وبنيها ، ما أظلت الخضراء على الغبراء ، وذكر ما جرى عليها من المصائب والأحزان ، سميتها بيت الأحزان في مصائب سيدة النسوان ورتبتها على أبواب وخاتمة .

To proceed. He who hopes for the pardon of his Lord, the All-Sufficient — 'Abbas b. Muhammad Rida al-Qummi, may God deal with them both in His kindness, the hidden and the manifest — says: This is a brief treatise recounting the circumstances of the Mistress of the Women of the Worlds, the part of the Seal of the Prophets and the mother of the pure Imams; the purest of women, heiress of the master of the prophets, consort of the master of the legatees, the human houri, the virgin Batul, the martyred lady, wronged and overpowered, Fatima al-Zahra — God's blessings be upon her, and upon her father, her husband and her sons, for as long as the green sky overshadows the dusty earth — and recounting the afflictions and sorrows that befell her. I have named it Bayt al-Ahzan fi masa'ib sayyidat al-niswan, and arranged it in chapters with a conclusion.
