ابتدأها ، وسبوغ آلاء أسداها ، وتمام منن أولاها ، جم عن الإحصاء عددها ونأى عن الجزاء أمدها ، وتفاوت عن الإدراك أبدها ، وندبهم لاستزادتها بالشكر لاتصالها ، وأستحمد إلى الخلائق بإجزالها ، وثنى بالندب إلى أمثالها .

He began, and the fullness of the bounties He bestowed, and the completeness of the graces He conferred: their number too abundant to be counted, their reach too far for requital, their utmost limit beyond attainment. And He called them to seek increase of them by thankfulness for their continuance, and sought praise from His creatures by lavishing them, and repeated the call to the like of them.

وأشهد أن لا إله إلا الله وحده لا شريك له ، كلمة جعل الإخلاص تأويلها ، وضمن القلوب موصولها ، وأنار في الفكر معقولها ، الممتنع من الأبصار رؤيته ، ومن الألسن صفته ، ومن الأوهام كيفيته ، ابتدع الأشياء لا من شئ كان قبلها ، وأنشأها بلا احتذاء أمثلة امتثلها إلى أن قالت سلام الله عليها : أيها الناس : أعلموا أني فاطمة وأبي محمد صلى الله عليه وآله ، أقول عودا وبدوا ، ولا أقول ما أقول غلطا ، ولا أفعل ما أفعل شططا ، * ( لقد جائكم رسول من أنفسكم عزيز عليه ما عنتم حريص عليكم بالمؤمنين رؤوف رحيم ) * 28 ، فإن تعزوه وتعرفوه : تجدوه أبي دون نسائكم وأخا ابن عمي دون رجالكم ، ولنعم المعزي إليه صلى الله عليه وآله .

And I bear witness that there is no god but God alone, who has no partner — a word whose inner meaning He made sincerity, whose bond He lodged within the hearts, and whose intelligible sense He illumined in thought: He whose sight is withheld from eyes, and His description from tongues, and His modality from imaginations. He originated things from no thing that was before them, and brought them into being with no copying of patterns He followed — until she said, the peace of God be upon her: O people, know that I am Fatima, and my father is Muhammad, may God bless him and his Family. I say it at the end and at the beginning; and I do not say what I say in error, nor do I do what I do unjustly. “There has come to you a Messenger from among yourselves; grievous to him is your suffering, solicitous for you, to the believers kind and merciful.” [28] So if you trace him and know him, you will find him my father and not the father of your women, and the brother of my cousin and not of your men. And excellent is he to whom such tracing is made, may God bless him and his Family.

فبلغ الرسالة صادعا بالنذارة ، مائلا عن مدرجة 29 المشركين ، ضاربا ثبجهم 30 ، آخذا بأكظامهم 31 ، داعيا إلى سبيل ربه بالحكمة والموعظة الحسنة ، يكسر الأصنام وينكث الإلهام ، حتى انهزم الجمع وولوا الدبر ، حتى تفري 32 الليل عن صبحه وأسفر الحق عن محضه ، ونطق زعيم الدين وخرست شقاشق 33 الشياطين ، وطاح وشيظ النفاق 34 وانحلت عقد الكفر والشقاق ، وفهمتم بكلمة الإخلاص في

So he delivered the message, proclaiming the warning aloud, turning aside from the course [29] of the polytheists, striking their main body, [30] seizing their throats, [31] calling to the way of his Lord with wisdom and goodly exhortation — breaking the idols and shattering the oracles — until the host was routed and they turned their backs; until the night was cloven [32] from its dawn and the truth shone forth in its purity, and the chief of the religion spoke and the frothings [33] of the satans were struck dumb, and the dregs of hypocrisy perished [34] and the knots of unbelief and discord were loosed.
