وَٱلصَّٰٓفَّٰتِ صَفًّا۝١

1I swear by those who draw themselves out in ranks

فَٱلزَّٰجِرَٰتِ زَجْرًا۝٢

2Then those who drive away with reproof,

فَٱلتَّٰلِيَٰتِ ذِكْرًا۝٣

3Then those who recite, being mindful,

إِنَّ إِلَٰهَكُمْ لَوَٰحِدٌ۝٤

4Most surely your Allah is One:

رَّبُّ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضِ وَمَا بَيْنَهُمَا وَرَبُّ ٱلْمَشَٰرِقِ۝٥

5The Lord of the heavens and the earth and what is between them, and Lord of the easts.

إِنَّا زَيَّنَّا ٱلسَّمَآءَ ٱلدُّنْيَا بِزِينَةٍ ٱلْكَوَاكِبِ۝٦

6Surely We have adorned the nearest heaven with an adornment, the stars,

وَحِفْظًا مِّن كُلِّ شَيْطَٰنٍ مَّارِدٍ۝٧

7And (there is) a safeguard against every rebellious Shaitan.

لَّا يَسَّمَّعُونَ إِلَى ٱلْمَلَإِ ٱلْأَعْلَىٰ وَيُقْذَفُونَ مِن كُلِّ جَانِبٍ۝٨

8They cannot listen to the exalted assembly and they are thrown at from every side,

دُحُورًا ۖ وَلَهُمْ عَذَابٌ وَاصِبٌ۝٩

9Being driven off, and for them is a perpetual chastisement,

إِلَّا مَنْ خَطِفَ ٱلْخَطْفَةَ فَأَتْبَعَهُۥ شِهَابٌ ثَاقِبٌ۝١٠

10Except him who snatches off but once, then there follows him a brightly shining flame.

فَٱسْتَفْتِهِمْ أَهُمْ أَشَدُّ خَلْقًا أَم مَّنْ خَلَقْنَآ ۚ إِنَّا خَلَقْنَٰهُم مِّن طِينٍ لَّازِبٍۭ۝١١

11Then ask them whether they are stronger in creation or those (others) whom We have created. Surely We created them of firm clay.

بَلْ عَجِبْتَ وَيَسْخَرُونَ۝١٢

12Nay! you wonder while they mock,

وَإِذَا ذُكِّرُوا۟ لَا يَذْكُرُونَ۝١٣

13And when they are reminded, they mind not,

وَإِذَا رَأَوْا۟ ءَايَةً يَسْتَسْخِرُونَ۝١٤

14And when they see a sign they incite one another to scoff,

وَقَالُوٓا۟ إِنْ هَٰذَآ إِلَّا سِحْرٌ مُّبِينٌ۝١٥

15And they say: This is nothing but clear magic:

أَءِذَا مِتْنَا وَكُنَّا تُرَابًا وَعِظَٰمًا أَءِنَّا لَمَبْعُوثُونَ۝١٦

16What! when we are dead and have become dust and bones, shall we then certainly be raised,

أَوَءَابَآؤُنَا ٱلْأَوَّلُونَ۝١٧

17Or our fathers of yore?

قُلْ نَعَمْ وَأَنتُمْ دَٰخِرُونَ۝١٨

18Say: Aye! and you shall be abject.

فَإِنَّمَا هِىَ زَجْرَةٌ وَٰحِدَةٌ فَإِذَا هُمْ يَنظُرُونَ۝١٩

19So it shall only be a single cry, when lo! they shall see.

وَقَالُوا۟ يَٰوَيْلَنَا هَٰذَا يَوْمُ ٱلدِّينِ۝٢٠

20And they shall say: O woe to us! this is the day of requital.

هَٰذَا يَوْمُ ٱلْفَصْلِ ٱلَّذِى كُنتُم بِهِۦ تُكَذِّبُونَ۝٢١

21This is the day of the judgment which you called a lie.

ٱحْشُرُوا۟ ٱلَّذِينَ ظَلَمُوا۟ وَأَزْوَٰجَهُمْ وَمَا كَانُوا۟ يَعْبُدُونَ۝٢٢

22Gather together those who were unjust and their associates, and what they used to worship

مِن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ فَٱهْدُوهُمْ إِلَىٰ صِرَٰطِ ٱلْجَحِيمِ۝٢٣

23Besides Allah, then lead them to the way to hell.

وَقِفُوهُمْ ۖ إِنَّهُم مَّسْـُٔولُونَ۝٢٤

24And stop them, for they shall be questioned:

مَا لَكُمْ لَا تَنَاصَرُونَ۝٢٥

25What is the matter with you that you do not help each other?

بَلْ هُمُ ٱلْيَوْمَ مُسْتَسْلِمُونَ۝٢٦

26Nay! on that day they shall be submissive.

وَأَقْبَلَ بَعْضُهُمْ عَلَىٰ بَعْضٍ يَتَسَآءَلُونَ۝٢٧

27And some of them shall advance towards others, questioning each other.

قَالُوٓا۟ إِنَّكُمْ كُنتُمْ تَأْتُونَنَا عَنِ ٱلْيَمِينِ۝٢٨

28They shall say: Surely you used to come to us from the right side.

قَالُوا۟ بَل لَّمْ تَكُونُوا۟ مُؤْمِنِينَ۝٢٩

29They shall say: Nay, you (yourselves) were not believers;

وَمَا كَانَ لَنَا عَلَيْكُم مِّن سُلْطَٰنٍۭ ۖ بَلْ كُنتُمْ قَوْمًا طَٰغِينَ۝٣٠

30And we had no authority over you, but you were an inordinate people;

فَحَقَّ عَلَيْنَا قَوْلُ رَبِّنَآ ۖ إِنَّا لَذَآئِقُونَ۝٣١

31So the sentence of our Lord has come to pass against us: (now) we shall surely taste;

فَأَغْوَيْنَٰكُمْ إِنَّا كُنَّا غَٰوِينَ۝٣٢

32So we led you astray, for we ourselves were erring.

فَإِنَّهُمْ يَوْمَئِذٍ فِى ٱلْعَذَابِ مُشْتَرِكُونَ۝٣٣

33So they shall on that day be sharers in the chastisement one with another.

إِنَّا كَذَٰلِكَ نَفْعَلُ بِٱلْمُجْرِمِينَ۝٣٤

34Surely thus do We deal with the guilty.

إِنَّهُمْ كَانُوٓا۟ إِذَا قِيلَ لَهُمْ لَآ إِلَٰهَ إِلَّا ٱللَّهُ يَسْتَكْبِرُونَ۝٣٥

35Surely they used to behave proudly when it was said to them: There is no god but Allah;

وَيَقُولُونَ أَئِنَّا لَتَارِكُوٓا۟ ءَالِهَتِنَا لِشَاعِرٍ مَّجْنُونٍۭ۝٣٦

36And to say: What! shall we indeed give up our gods for the sake of a mad poet?

بَلْ جَآءَ بِٱلْحَقِّ وَصَدَّقَ ٱلْمُرْسَلِينَ۝٣٧

37Nay: he has come with the truth and verified the apostles.

إِنَّكُمْ لَذَآئِقُوا۟ ٱلْعَذَابِ ٱلْأَلِيمِ۝٣٨

38Most surely you will taste the painful punishment.

وَمَا تُجْزَوْنَ إِلَّا مَا كُنتُمْ تَعْمَلُونَ۝٣٩

39And you shall not be rewarded except (for) what you did.

إِلَّا عِبَادَ ٱللَّهِ ٱلْمُخْلَصِينَ۝٤٠

40Save the servants of Allah, the purified ones.

أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ لَهُمْ رِزْقٌ مَّعْلُومٌ۝٤١

41For them is a known sustenance,

فَوَٰكِهُ ۖ وَهُم مُّكْرَمُونَ۝٤٢

42Fruits, and they shall be highly honored,

فِى جَنَّٰتِ ٱلنَّعِيمِ۝٤٣

43In gardens of pleasure,

عَلَىٰ سُرُرٍ مُّتَقَٰبِلِينَ۝٤٤

44On thrones, facing each other.

يُطَافُ عَلَيْهِم بِكَأْسٍ مِّن مَّعِينٍۭ۝٤٥

45A bowl shall be made to go round them from water running out of springs,

بَيْضَآءَ لَذَّةٍ لِّلشَّٰرِبِينَ۝٤٦

46White, delicious to those who drink.

لَا فِيهَا غَوْلٌ وَلَا هُمْ عَنْهَا يُنزَفُونَ۝٤٧

47There shall be no trouble in it, nor shall they be exhausted therewith.

وَعِندَهُمْ قَٰصِرَٰتُ ٱلطَّرْفِ عِينٌ۝٤٨

48And with them shall be those who restrain the eyes, having beautiful eyes;

كَأَنَّهُنَّ بَيْضٌ مَّكْنُونٌ۝٤٩

49As if they were eggs carefully protected.

فَأَقْبَلَ بَعْضُهُمْ عَلَىٰ بَعْضٍ يَتَسَآءَلُونَ۝٥٠

50Then shall some of them advance to others, questioning each other.

قَالَ قَآئِلٌ مِّنْهُمْ إِنِّى كَانَ لِى قَرِينٌ۝٥١

51A speaker from among them shall say: Surely I had a comrade of mine,

يَقُولُ أَءِنَّكَ لَمِنَ ٱلْمُصَدِّقِينَ۝٥٢

52Who said: What! are you indeed of those who accept (the truth)?

أَءِذَا مِتْنَا وَكُنَّا تُرَابًا وَعِظَٰمًا أَءِنَّا لَمَدِينُونَ۝٥٣

53What! when we are dead and have become dust and bones, shall we then be certainly brought to judgment?

قَالَ هَلْ أَنتُم مُّطَّلِعُونَ۝٥٤

54He shall say: Will you look on?

فَٱطَّلَعَ فَرَءَاهُ فِى سَوَآءِ ٱلْجَحِيمِ۝٥٥

55Then he looked down and saw him in the midst of hell.

قَالَ تَٱللَّهِ إِن كِدتَّ لَتُرْدِينِ۝٥٦

56He shall say: By Allah! you had almost caused me to perish;

وَلَوْلَا نِعْمَةُ رَبِّى لَكُنتُ مِنَ ٱلْمُحْضَرِينَ۝٥٧

57And had it not been for the favor of my Lord, I would certainly have been among those brought up.

أَفَمَا نَحْنُ بِمَيِّتِينَ۝٥٨

58Is it then that we are not going to die,

إِلَّا مَوْتَتَنَا ٱلْأُولَىٰ وَمَا نَحْنُ بِمُعَذَّبِينَ۝٥٩

59Except our previous death? And we shall not be chastised?

إِنَّ هَٰذَا لَهُوَ ٱلْفَوْزُ ٱلْعَظِيمُ۝٦٠

60Most surely this is the mighty achievement.

لِمِثْلِ هَٰذَا فَلْيَعْمَلِ ٱلْعَٰمِلُونَ۝٦١

61For the like of this then let the workers work.

أَذَٰلِكَ خَيْرٌ نُّزُلًا أَمْ شَجَرَةُ ٱلزَّقُّومِ۝٦٢

62Is this better as an entertainment or the tree of Zaqqum?

إِنَّا جَعَلْنَٰهَا فِتْنَةً لِّلظَّٰلِمِينَ۝٦٣

63Surely We have made it to be a trial to the unjust.

إِنَّهَا شَجَرَةٌ تَخْرُجُ فِىٓ أَصْلِ ٱلْجَحِيمِ۝٦٤

64Surely it is a tree that-grows in the bottom of the hell;

طَلْعُهَا كَأَنَّهُۥ رُءُوسُ ٱلشَّيَٰطِينِ۝٦٥

65Its produce is as it were the heads of the serpents.

فَإِنَّهُمْ لَـَٔاكِلُونَ مِنْهَا فَمَالِـُٔونَ مِنْهَا ٱلْبُطُونَ۝٦٦

66Then most surely they shall eat of it and fill (their) bellies with it.

ثُمَّ إِنَّ لَهُمْ عَلَيْهَا لَشَوْبًا مِّنْ حَمِيمٍ۝٦٧

67Then most surely they shall have after it to drink of a mixture prepared in boiling water.

ثُمَّ إِنَّ مَرْجِعَهُمْ لَإِلَى ٱلْجَحِيمِ۝٦٨

68Then most surely their return shall be to hell.

إِنَّهُمْ أَلْفَوْا۟ ءَابَآءَهُمْ ضَآلِّينَ۝٦٩

69Surely they found their fathers going astray,

فَهُمْ عَلَىٰٓ ءَاثَٰرِهِمْ يُهْرَعُونَ۝٧٠

70So in their footsteps they are being hastened on.

وَلَقَدْ ضَلَّ قَبْلَهُمْ أَكْثَرُ ٱلْأَوَّلِينَ۝٧١

71And certainly most of the ancients went astray before them,

وَلَقَدْ أَرْسَلْنَا فِيهِم مُّنذِرِينَ۝٧٢

72And certainly We sent among them warners.

فَٱنظُرْ كَيْفَ كَانَ عَٰقِبَةُ ٱلْمُنذَرِينَ۝٧٣

73Then see how was the end of those warned,

إِلَّا عِبَادَ ٱللَّهِ ٱلْمُخْلَصِينَ۝٧٤

74Except the servants of Allah, the purified ones.

وَلَقَدْ نَادَىٰنَا نُوحٌ فَلَنِعْمَ ٱلْمُجِيبُونَ۝٧٥

75And Nuh did certainly call upon Us, and most excellent answerer of prayer are We.

وَنَجَّيْنَٰهُ وَأَهْلَهُۥ مِنَ ٱلْكَرْبِ ٱلْعَظِيمِ۝٧٦

76And We delivered him and his followers from the mighty distress.

وَجَعَلْنَا ذُرِّيَّتَهُۥ هُمُ ٱلْبَاقِينَ۝٧٧

77And We made his offspring the survivors.

وَتَرَكْنَا عَلَيْهِ فِى ٱلْـَٔاخِرِينَ۝٧٨

78And We perpetuated to him (praise) among the later generations.

سَلَٰمٌ عَلَىٰ نُوحٍ فِى ٱلْعَٰلَمِينَ۝٧٩

79Peace and salutation to Nuh among the nations.

إِنَّا كَذَٰلِكَ نَجْزِى ٱلْمُحْسِنِينَ۝٨٠

80Thus do We surely reward the doers of good.

إِنَّهُۥ مِنْ عِبَادِنَا ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ۝٨١

81Surely he was of Our believing servants.

ثُمَّ أَغْرَقْنَا ٱلْـَٔاخَرِينَ۝٨٢

82Then We drowned the others

وَإِنَّ مِن شِيعَتِهِۦ لَإِبْرَٰهِيمَ۝٨٣

83And most surely Ibrahim followed his way.

إِذْ جَآءَ رَبَّهُۥ بِقَلْبٍ سَلِيمٍ۝٨٤

84When he came to his Lord with a free heart,

إِذْ قَالَ لِأَبِيهِ وَقَوْمِهِۦ مَاذَا تَعْبُدُونَ۝٨٥

85When he said to his father and his people: What is it that you worship?

أَئِفْكًا ءَالِهَةً دُونَ ٱللَّهِ تُرِيدُونَ۝٨٦

86A lie-- gods besides Allah-- do you desire?

فَمَا ظَنُّكُم بِرَبِّ ٱلْعَٰلَمِينَ۝٨٧

87What is then your idea about the Lord of the worlds?

فَنَظَرَ نَظْرَةً فِى ٱلنُّجُومِ۝٨٨

88Then he looked at the stars, looking up once,

فَقَالَ إِنِّى سَقِيمٌ۝٨٩

89Then he said: Surely I am sick (of your worshipping these).

فَتَوَلَّوْا۟ عَنْهُ مُدْبِرِينَ۝٩٠

90So they went away from him, turning back.

فَرَاغَ إِلَىٰٓ ءَالِهَتِهِمْ فَقَالَ أَلَا تَأْكُلُونَ۝٩١

91Then he turned aside to their gods secretly and said: What! do you not eat?

مَا لَكُمْ لَا تَنطِقُونَ۝٩٢

92What is the matter with you that you do not speak?

فَرَاغَ عَلَيْهِمْ ضَرْبًۢا بِٱلْيَمِينِ۝٩٣

93Then he turned against them secretly, smiting them with the right hand.

فَأَقْبَلُوٓا۟ إِلَيْهِ يَزِفُّونَ۝٩٤

94So they (people) advanced towards him, hastening.

قَالَ أَتَعْبُدُونَ مَا تَنْحِتُونَ۝٩٥

95Said he: What! do you worship what you hew out?

وَٱللَّهُ خَلَقَكُمْ وَمَا تَعْمَلُونَ۝٩٦

96And Allah has created you and what you make.

قَالُوا۟ ٱبْنُوا۟ لَهُۥ بُنْيَٰنًا فَأَلْقُوهُ فِى ٱلْجَحِيمِ۝٩٧

97They said: Build for him a furnace, then cast him into the burning fire.

فَأَرَادُوا۟ بِهِۦ كَيْدًا فَجَعَلْنَٰهُمُ ٱلْأَسْفَلِينَ۝٩٨

98And they desired a war against him, but We brought them low.

وَقَالَ إِنِّى ذَاهِبٌ إِلَىٰ رَبِّى سَيَهْدِينِ۝٩٩

99And he said: Surely I fly to my lord; He will guide me.

رَبِّ هَبْ لِى مِنَ ٱلصَّٰلِحِينَ۝١٠٠

100My Lord! grant me of the doers of good deeds.

فَبَشَّرْنَٰهُ بِغُلَٰمٍ حَلِيمٍ۝١٠١

101So We gave him the good news of a boy, possessing forbearance.

فَلَمَّا بَلَغَ مَعَهُ ٱلسَّعْىَ قَالَ يَٰبُنَىَّ إِنِّىٓ أَرَىٰ فِى ٱلْمَنَامِ أَنِّىٓ أَذْبَحُكَ فَٱنظُرْ مَاذَا تَرَىٰ ۚ قَالَ يَٰٓأَبَتِ ٱفْعَلْ مَا تُؤْمَرُ ۖ سَتَجِدُنِىٓ إِن شَآءَ ٱللَّهُ مِنَ ٱلصَّٰبِرِينَ۝١٠٢

102And when he attained to working with him, he said: O my son! surely I have seen in a dream that I should sacrifice you; consider then what you see. He said: O my father! do what you are commanded; if Allah please, you will find me of the patient ones.

فَلَمَّآ أَسْلَمَا وَتَلَّهُۥ لِلْجَبِينِ۝١٠٣

103So when they both submitted and he threw him down upon his forehead,

وَنَٰدَيْنَٰهُ أَن يَٰٓإِبْرَٰهِيمُ۝١٠٤

104And We called out to him saying: O Ibrahim!

قَدْ صَدَّقْتَ ٱلرُّءْيَآ ۚ إِنَّا كَذَٰلِكَ نَجْزِى ٱلْمُحْسِنِينَ۝١٠٥

105You have indeed shown the truth of the vision; surely thus do We reward the doers of good:

إِنَّ هَٰذَا لَهُوَ ٱلْبَلَٰٓؤُا۟ ٱلْمُبِينُ۝١٠٦

106Most surely this is a manifest trial.

وَفَدَيْنَٰهُ بِذِبْحٍ عَظِيمٍ۝١٠٧

107And We ransomed him with a Feat sacrifice.

وَتَرَكْنَا عَلَيْهِ فِى ٱلْـَٔاخِرِينَ۝١٠٨

108And We perpetuated (praise) to him among the later generations.

سَلَٰمٌ عَلَىٰٓ إِبْرَٰهِيمَ۝١٠٩

109Peace be on Ibrahim.

كَذَٰلِكَ نَجْزِى ٱلْمُحْسِنِينَ۝١١٠

110Thus do We reward the doers of good.

إِنَّهُۥ مِنْ عِبَادِنَا ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ۝١١١

111Surely he was one of Our believing servants.

وَبَشَّرْنَٰهُ بِإِسْحَٰقَ نَبِيًّا مِّنَ ٱلصَّٰلِحِينَ۝١١٢

112And We gave him the good news of Ishaq, a prophet among the good ones.

وَبَٰرَكْنَا عَلَيْهِ وَعَلَىٰٓ إِسْحَٰقَ ۚ وَمِن ذُرِّيَّتِهِمَا مُحْسِنٌ وَظَالِمٌ لِّنَفْسِهِۦ مُبِينٌ۝١١٣

113And We showered Our blessings on him and on Ishaq; and of their offspring are the doers of good, and (also) those who are clearly unjust to their own souls.

وَلَقَدْ مَنَنَّا عَلَىٰ مُوسَىٰ وَهَٰرُونَ۝١١٤

114And certainly We conferred a favor on Musa and Haroun.

وَنَجَّيْنَٰهُمَا وَقَوْمَهُمَا مِنَ ٱلْكَرْبِ ٱلْعَظِيمِ۝١١٥

115And We delivered them both and their people from the mighty distress.

وَنَصَرْنَٰهُمْ فَكَانُوا۟ هُمُ ٱلْغَٰلِبِينَ۝١١٦

116And We helped them, so they were the vanquishers.

وَءَاتَيْنَٰهُمَا ٱلْكِتَٰبَ ٱلْمُسْتَبِينَ۝١١٧

117And We gave them both the Book that made (things) clear.

وَهَدَيْنَٰهُمَا ٱلصِّرَٰطَ ٱلْمُسْتَقِيمَ۝١١٨

118And We guided them both on the right way.

وَتَرَكْنَا عَلَيْهِمَا فِى ٱلْـَٔاخِرِينَ۝١١٩

119And We perpetuated (praise) to them among the later generations.

سَلَٰمٌ عَلَىٰ مُوسَىٰ وَهَٰرُونَ۝١٢٠

120Peace be on Musa and Haroun.

إِنَّا كَذَٰلِكَ نَجْزِى ٱلْمُحْسِنِينَ۝١٢١

121Even thus do We reward the doers of good.

إِنَّهُمَا مِنْ عِبَادِنَا ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ۝١٢٢

122Surely they were both of Our believing servants.

وَإِنَّ إِلْيَاسَ لَمِنَ ٱلْمُرْسَلِينَ۝١٢٣

123And Ilyas was most surely of the apostles.

إِذْ قَالَ لِقَوْمِهِۦٓ أَلَا تَتَّقُونَ۝١٢٤

124When he said to his people: Do you not guard (against evil)?

أَتَدْعُونَ بَعْلًا وَتَذَرُونَ أَحْسَنَ ٱلْخَٰلِقِينَ۝١٢٥

125What! do you call upon Ba'l and forsake the best of the creators,

ٱللَّهَ رَبَّكُمْ وَرَبَّ ءَابَآئِكُمُ ٱلْأَوَّلِينَ۝١٢٦

126Allah, your Lord and the Lord of your fathers of yore?

فَكَذَّبُوهُ فَإِنَّهُمْ لَمُحْضَرُونَ۝١٢٧

127But they called him a liar, therefore they shall most surely be brought up.

إِلَّا عِبَادَ ٱللَّهِ ٱلْمُخْلَصِينَ۝١٢٨

128But not the servants of Allah, the purified ones.

وَتَرَكْنَا عَلَيْهِ فِى ٱلْـَٔاخِرِينَ۝١٢٩

129And We perpetuated to him (praise) among the later generations.

سَلَٰمٌ عَلَىٰٓ إِلْ يَاسِينَ۝١٣٠

130Peace be on Ilyas.

إِنَّا كَذَٰلِكَ نَجْزِى ٱلْمُحْسِنِينَ۝١٣١

131Even thus do We reward the doers of good.

إِنَّهُۥ مِنْ عِبَادِنَا ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ۝١٣٢

132Surely he was one of Our believing servants.

وَإِنَّ لُوطًا لَّمِنَ ٱلْمُرْسَلِينَ۝١٣٣

133And Lut was most surely of the apostles.

إِذْ نَجَّيْنَٰهُ وَأَهْلَهُۥٓ أَجْمَعِينَ۝١٣٤

134When We delivered him and his followers, all--

إِلَّا عَجُوزًا فِى ٱلْغَٰبِرِينَ۝١٣٥

135Except an old woman (who was) amongst those who tarried.

ثُمَّ دَمَّرْنَا ٱلْـَٔاخَرِينَ۝١٣٦

136Then We destroyed the others.

وَإِنَّكُمْ لَتَمُرُّونَ عَلَيْهِم مُّصْبِحِينَ۝١٣٧

137And most surely you pass by them in the morning,

وَبِٱلَّيْلِ ۗ أَفَلَا تَعْقِلُونَ۝١٣٨

138And at night; do you not then understand?

وَإِنَّ يُونُسَ لَمِنَ ٱلْمُرْسَلِينَ۝١٣٩

139And Yunus was most surely of the apostles.

إِذْ أَبَقَ إِلَى ٱلْفُلْكِ ٱلْمَشْحُونِ۝١٤٠

140When he ran away to a ship completely laden,

فَسَاهَمَ فَكَانَ مِنَ ٱلْمُدْحَضِينَ۝١٤١

141So he shared (with them), but was of those who are cast off.

فَٱلْتَقَمَهُ ٱلْحُوتُ وَهُوَ مُلِيمٌ۝١٤٢

142So the fish swallowed him while he did that for which he blamed himself

فَلَوْلَآ أَنَّهُۥ كَانَ مِنَ ٱلْمُسَبِّحِينَ۝١٤٣

143But had it not been that he was of those who glorify (Us),

لَلَبِثَ فِى بَطْنِهِۦٓ إِلَىٰ يَوْمِ يُبْعَثُونَ۝١٤٤

144He would certainly have tarried in its belly to the day when they are raised.

فَنَبَذْنَٰهُ بِٱلْعَرَآءِ وَهُوَ سَقِيمٌ۝١٤٥

145Then We cast him on to the vacant surface of the earth while he was sick.

وَأَنۢبَتْنَا عَلَيْهِ شَجَرَةً مِّن يَقْطِينٍ۝١٤٦

146And We caused to grow up for him a gourdplant.

وَأَرْسَلْنَٰهُ إِلَىٰ مِا۟ئَةِ أَلْفٍ أَوْ يَزِيدُونَ۝١٤٧

147And We sent him to a hundred thousand, rather they exceeded.

فَـَٔامَنُوا۟ فَمَتَّعْنَٰهُمْ إِلَىٰ حِينٍ۝١٤٨

148And they believed, so We gave them provision till a time.

فَٱسْتَفْتِهِمْ أَلِرَبِّكَ ٱلْبَنَاتُ وَلَهُمُ ٱلْبَنُونَ۝١٤٩

149Then ask them whether your Lord has daughters and they have sons.

أَمْ خَلَقْنَا ٱلْمَلَٰٓئِكَةَ إِنَٰثًا وَهُمْ شَٰهِدُونَ۝١٥٠

150Or did We create the angels females while they were witnesses?

أَلَآ إِنَّهُم مِّنْ إِفْكِهِمْ لَيَقُولُونَ۝١٥١

151Now surely it is of their own lie that they say:

وَلَدَ ٱللَّهُ وَإِنَّهُمْ لَكَٰذِبُونَ۝١٥٢

152Allah has begotten; and most surely they are liars.

أَصْطَفَى ٱلْبَنَاتِ عَلَى ٱلْبَنِينَ۝١٥٣

153Has He chosen daughters in preference to sons?

مَا لَكُمْ كَيْفَ تَحْكُمُونَ۝١٥٤

154What is the matter with you, how is it that you judge?

أَفَلَا تَذَكَّرُونَ۝١٥٥

155Will you not then mind?

أَمْ لَكُمْ سُلْطَٰنٌ مُّبِينٌ۝١٥٦

156Or have you a clear authority?

فَأْتُوا۟ بِكِتَٰبِكُمْ إِن كُنتُمْ صَٰدِقِينَ۝١٥٧

157Then bring your book, if you are truthful.

وَجَعَلُوا۟ بَيْنَهُۥ وَبَيْنَ ٱلْجِنَّةِ نَسَبًا ۚ وَلَقَدْ عَلِمَتِ ٱلْجِنَّةُ إِنَّهُمْ لَمُحْضَرُونَ۝١٥٨

158And they assert a relationship between Him and the jinn; and certainly the jinn do know that they shall surely be brought up;

سُبْحَٰنَ ٱللَّهِ عَمَّا يَصِفُونَ۝١٥٩

159Glory be to Allah (for freedom) from what they describe;

إِلَّا عِبَادَ ٱللَّهِ ٱلْمُخْلَصِينَ۝١٦٠

160But not so the servants of Allah, the purified ones.

فَإِنَّكُمْ وَمَا تَعْبُدُونَ۝١٦١

161So surely you and what you worship,

مَآ أَنتُمْ عَلَيْهِ بِفَٰتِنِينَ۝١٦٢

162Not against Him can you cause (any) to fall into trial,

إِلَّا مَنْ هُوَ صَالِ ٱلْجَحِيمِ۝١٦٣

163Save him who will go to hell.

وَمَا مِنَّآ إِلَّا لَهُۥ مَقَامٌ مَّعْلُومٌ۝١٦٤

164And there is none of us but has an assigned place,

وَإِنَّا لَنَحْنُ ٱلصَّآفُّونَ۝١٦٥

165And most surely we are they who draw themselves out in ranks,

وَإِنَّا لَنَحْنُ ٱلْمُسَبِّحُونَ۝١٦٦

166And we are most surely they who declare the glory (of Allah).

وَإِن كَانُوا۟ لَيَقُولُونَ۝١٦٧

167And surely they used to say:

لَوْ أَنَّ عِندَنَا ذِكْرًا مِّنَ ٱلْأَوَّلِينَ۝١٦٨

168Had we a reminder from those of yore,

لَكُنَّا عِبَادَ ٱللَّهِ ٱلْمُخْلَصِينَ۝١٦٩

169We would certainly have been the servants of Allah-- the purified ones.

فَكَفَرُوا۟ بِهِۦ ۖ فَسَوْفَ يَعْلَمُونَ۝١٧٠

170But (now) they disbelieve in it, so they will come to know.

وَلَقَدْ سَبَقَتْ كَلِمَتُنَا لِعِبَادِنَا ٱلْمُرْسَلِينَ۝١٧١

171And certainly Our word has already gone forth in respect of Our servants, the apostles:

إِنَّهُمْ لَهُمُ ٱلْمَنصُورُونَ۝١٧٢

172Most surely they shall be the assisted ones

وَإِنَّ جُندَنَا لَهُمُ ٱلْغَٰلِبُونَ۝١٧٣

173And most surely Our host alone shall be the victorious ones.

فَتَوَلَّ عَنْهُمْ حَتَّىٰ حِينٍ۝١٧٤

174Therefore turn away from them till a time,

وَأَبْصِرْهُمْ فَسَوْفَ يُبْصِرُونَ۝١٧٥

175And (then) see them, so they too shall see.

أَفَبِعَذَابِنَا يَسْتَعْجِلُونَ۝١٧٦

176What! would they then hasten on Our chastisement?

فَإِذَا نَزَلَ بِسَاحَتِهِمْ فَسَآءَ صَبَاحُ ٱلْمُنذَرِينَ۝١٧٧

177But when it shall descend in their court, evil shall then be the morning of the warned ones.

وَتَوَلَّ عَنْهُمْ حَتَّىٰ حِينٍ۝١٧٨

178And turn away from them till a time

وَأَبْصِرْ فَسَوْفَ يُبْصِرُونَ۝١٧٩

179And (then) see, for they too shall see.

سُبْحَٰنَ رَبِّكَ رَبِّ ٱلْعِزَّةِ عَمَّا يَصِفُونَ۝١٨٠

180Glory be to your Lord, the Lord of Honor, above what they describe.

وَسَلَٰمٌ عَلَى ٱلْمُرْسَلِينَ۝١٨١

181And peace be on the apostles.

وَٱلْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ رَبِّ ٱلْعَٰلَمِينَ۝١٨٢

182And all praise is due to Allah, the Lord of the worlds.
