وَيْلٌ لِّكُلِّ هُمَزَةٍ لُّمَزَةٍ۝١

1Woe to every slanderer, defamer,

ٱلَّذِى جَمَعَ مَالًا وَعَدَّدَهُۥ۝٢

2Who amasses wealth and considers it a provision (against mishap);

يَحْسَبُ أَنَّ مَالَهُۥٓ أَخْلَدَهُۥ۝٣

3He thinks that his wealth will make him immortal.

كَلَّا ۖ لَيُنۢبَذَنَّ فِى ٱلْحُطَمَةِ۝٤

4Nay! he shall most certainly be hurled into the crushing disaster,

وَمَآ أَدْرَىٰكَ مَا ٱلْحُطَمَةُ۝٥

5And what will make you realize what the crushing disaster is?

نَارُ ٱللَّهِ ٱلْمُوقَدَةُ۝٦

6It is the fire kindled by Allah,

ٱلَّتِى تَطَّلِعُ عَلَى ٱلْأَفْـِٔدَةِ۝٧

7Which rises above the hearts.

إِنَّهَا عَلَيْهِم مُّؤْصَدَةٌ۝٨

8Surely it shall be closed over upon them,

فِى عَمَدٍ مُّمَدَّدَةٍۭ۝٩
