صدوره عنا و يكون في مقام الرضا و التسليم و يقر بأنه بأي معنى صدر عن المعصوم فهو الحق فذلك لا يصير سببا لكفره.

that it conflicts with reports whose issuing is certain; but he himself is in a state of contentment and submission and acknowledges that whatever sense that hadith may have, it issued from the Infallible and is true. So this does not become a cause of his unbelief.

«78»- ير، بصائر الدرجات أَحْمَدُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنِ ابْنِ سِنَانٍ عَنْ مَنْصُورٍ الصَّيْقَلِ قَالَ: دَخَلْتُ أَنَا وَ الْحَارِثُ بْنُ الْمُغِيرَةِ وَ غَيْرُهُ عَلَى أَبِی عَبْدِ اللَّهِ عليه السلام فَقَالَ لَهُ الْحَارِثُ إِنَّ هَذَا يَعْنِي مَنْصُورَ الصَّيْقَلِ لَا يُرِيدُ إِلَّا أَنْ يَسْمَعَ حَدِيثَنَا فَوَ اللَّهِ مَا يَدْرِي مَا يَقْبَلُ مِمَّا يَرُدُّ فَقَالَ أَبُو عَبْدِ اللَّهِ عليه السلام هَذَا الرَّجُلُ مِنَ الْمُسَلِّمِينَ إِنَّ الْمُسَلِّمِينَ هُمُ النُّجَبَاءُ.

Basa'ir al-Darajat: Mansur al-Sayqal says: I, al-Harith b. al-Mughira and others went in to Imam al-Sadiq, peace be upon him. Al-Harith said: This Mansur al-Sayqal only hears our hadith, but by God he does not distinguish what he accepts from what he rejects. He said: Yet this man is among those who submit, and truly the Muslims are the noble and honourable ones.

«79»- ير، بصائر الدرجات أَحْمَدُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنِ الْأَهْوَازِيِّ عَنِ الْقَاسِمِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنْ سَلَمَةَ بْنِ حَيَّانَ ١ عَنْ أَبِي الصَّبَّاحِ الْكِنَانِيِّ قَالَ: كُنْتُ عِنْدَ أَبِي عَبْدِ اللَّهِ عليه السلام فَقَالَ يَا أَبَا الصَّبَّاحِ قَدْ أَفْلَحَ الْمُؤْمِنُونَ قَالَ أَبُو عَبْدِ اللَّهِ عليه السلام قَدْ أَفْلَحَ الْمُسَلِّمُونَ قَالَهَا ثَلَاثاً وَ قُلْتُهَا ثَلَاثاً ثُمَّ قَالَ إِنَّ الْمُسَلِّمِينَ هُمُ الْمُنْتَجَبُونَ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ هُمْ أَصْحَابُ الْحَدِيثِ.

Basa'ir al-Darajat: Abu al-Sabbah al-Kinani says: I was with Imam al-Sadiq, peace be upon him. Three times he said: O Abu al-Sabbah, "Successful indeed are the believers"; then he said: Those who submit have prospered. And he said it three times, and I too said it three times. Then he said: Truly the Muslims who on the Day of Resurrection will be among the chosen are the people of hadith.

«80»- ير، بصائر الدرجات أَحْمَدُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنِ الْأَهْوَازِيِّ عَنْ حَمَّادِ بْنِ عِيسَى عَنِ الْحُسَيْنِ بْنِ الْمُخْتَارِ عَنْ زَيْدٍ الشَّحَّامِ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ اللَّهِ عليه السلام قَالَ: قُلْتُ لَهُ إِنَّ عِنْدَنَا رَجُلًا يُسَمَّى كُلَيْباً ٢

Basa'ir al-Darajat: Zayd al-Shahham says: I said to Imam al-Sadiq, peace be upon him: With us there is a man named Kulayb.

فَلَا نَتَحَدَّثُ عَنْكُمْ شَيْئاً إِلَّا قَالَ أَنَا أُسَلِّمُ فَسَمَّيْنَاهُ كُلَيْبَ التَّسْلِيمِ قَالَ فَتَرَحَّمَ عَلَيْهِ ثُمَّ قَالَ أَ تَدْرُونَ مَا التَّسْلِيمُ فَسَكَتْنَا فَقَالَ هُوَ وَ اللَّهِ الْإِخْبَاتُ قَوْلُ اللَّهِ الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا وَ عَمِلُوا الصَّالِحاتِ وَ أَخْبَتُوا إِلی رَبِّهِمْ.

Whenever we relate a hadith to him from you he says: I submit! For this reason we call him "Kulayb of Submission". The Imam, peace be upon him, invoked mercy upon him and said: Do you know what submission is? We were silent. He said: By God, submission is the very "ikhbat" (humble devotion) of which God spoke in the noble verse: "Truly those who believe and do righteous deeds and humble themselves before their Lord."

Rijal al-Kashshi: Hammad related the like of it.

«81»- ير، بصائر الدرجات أَحْمَدُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنِ الْأَهْوَازِيِّ عَنْ حَمَّادِ بْنِ عِيسَى عَنْ مَنْصُورِ بْنِ يُونُسَ عَنْ بَشِيرٍ الدَّهَّانِ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ كَلَاماً يَقُولُ ٣ قَالَ أَبُو جَعْفَرٍ عليه السلام قَدْ أَفْلَحَ الْمُؤْمِنُونَ أَ تَدْرِی مَنْ هُمْ قُلْتُ جُعِلْتُ فِدَاكَ أَنْتَ أَعْلَمُ قَالَ قَدْ أَفْلَحَ الْمُسَلِّمُونَ إِنَّ الْمُسَلِّمِينَ هُمُ النُّجَبَاءُ.

Basa'ir al-Darajat: Bashir al-Dahhan says: I heard Imam al-Baqir, peace be upon him, always saying: Do you know what God means by "Successful indeed are the believers"? I said: May I be your ransom, you know better. He said: Those who submit have prospered; truly the Muslims are the noble ones.
