محمد بن النعمان قدس اللّٰه لطيفه. ١و كتاب المجالس الشهير بالأمالي للشيخ الجليل أبي علي الحسن بن شيخ الطائفة قدس اللّٰه روحهما.

Muhammad b. al-Nu'man, God sanctify his subtle spirit (1). And the Book of al-Majalis, well known as al-Amali, by the eminent Shaykh Abu 'Ali al-Hasan, son of the Shaykh of the community, God sanctify the spirits of them both.

و كتاب كامل الزيارة للشيخ النبيل الثقة أبي القاسم جعفر بن محمد بن جعفر بن موسى بن قولويه.

And the Book of Kamil al-Ziyara, by the noble and trustworthy Shaykh Abu al-Qasim Ja'far b. Muhammad b. Ja'far b. Musa b. Qulawayh.

و كتاب المحاسن و الآداب للشيخ الكامل الثقة أحمد بن محمد بن خالد البرقي و كتاب التفسير للشيخ الجليل الثقة علي بن إبراهيم بن هاشم القمي و كتاب العلل لولده الجليل محمد.

And the Book of al-Mahasin wa'l-Adab, by the accomplished and trustworthy Shaykh Ahmad b. Muhammad b. Khalid al-Barqi; and the Book of Commentary (al-Tafsir), by the eminent and trustworthy Shaykh 'Ali b. Ibrahim b. Hashim al-Qummi; and the Book of al-'Ilal, by his eminent son Muhammad.

و كتاب التفسير لمحمد بن مسعود السلمي المعروف بالعياشي الشيخ الثقة الراوية للأخبار.

And the Book of Commentary by Muhammad b. Mas'ud al-Sulami, known as al-'Ayyashi, the trustworthy Shaykh and transmitter of reports.

و كتاب التفسير المنسوب إلى الإمام الهمام الصمصام الحسن بن علي العسكري صلوات اللّٰه عليه و على آبائه و ولده الخلف الحجة.

And the Book of Commentary attributed to the mighty and resolute Imam al-Hasan b. 'Ali al-'Askari, God's blessings be upon him, upon his forefathers, and upon his son, the successor and the Proof.

و كتاب روضة الواعظين و تبصرة المتعظين للشيخ محمد بن علي بن أحمد الفارسي و أخطأ جماعة و نسبوه إلى الشيخ المفيد و قد صرح بما ذكرناه ابن شهرآشوب في المناقب و الشيخ منتجب الدين في الفهرست و العلامة رحمه اللّٰه في رسالة الإجازة و غيرهم و ذكر العلامة سنده إلى هذا الكتاب كما سنذكره في المجلد الآخر من الكتاب إن شاء اللّٰه تعالى.

And the Book of Rawdat al-Wa'izin wa Tabsirat al-Mutta'izin, by the Shaykh Muhammad b. 'Ali b. Ahmad al-Farisi. A number of scholars erred and ascribed it to al-Shaykh al-Mufid; but what we have stated was affirmed explicitly by Ibn Shahrashub in al-Manaqib, by al-Shaykh Muntajab al-Din in al-Fihrist, by al-'Allama, God have mercy on him, in the Epistle of Authorisation, and by others. Al-'Allama mentioned his chain to this book, as we shall mention in the last volume of the book, God willing.

ثم اعلم أن العلامة رحمه اللّٰه ذكر اسم المؤلف كما ذكرنا و سيظهر من كلام ابن شهرآشوب أن المؤلف محمد بن الحسن بن علي الفتال الفارسي و أن صاحب التفسير و صاحب الروضة واحد و كذا ذكره في كتاب معالم العلماء و يظهر من كلام الشيخ منتجب الدين في فهرسته أنهما اثنان حيث قال محمد بن علي الفتال النيسابوري صاحب التفسير ثقة و أي ثقة و قال بعد فاصلة كثيرة الشيخ الشهيد محمد بن أحمد الفارسي مصنف كتاب روضة الواعظين.

Then know that al-'Allama, God have mercy on him, gave the author's name as we have given it. But it will emerge from the words of Ibn Shahrashub that the author is Muhammad b. al-Hasan b. 'Ali al-Fattal al-Farisi, and that the author of the Commentary and the author of the Rawda are one and the same; so too he stated in the Book of Ma'alim al-'Ulama'. Yet it appears from the words of al-Shaykh Muntajab al-Din in his Fihrist that they are two men, for he said: "Muhammad b. 'Ali al-Fattal al-Naysaburi, author of the Commentary, trustworthy — and what a trustworthy man!", and then said, after a long interval: "The martyred Shaykh Muhammad b. Ahmad al-Farisi, author of the Book of Rawdat al-Wa'izin."
