As for the Book of Nuzhat al-Nazir and al-Jami', their author is among the well-known and exacting scholars; his opinions circulate among the later scholars, and he is the paternal cousin of al-Muhaqqiq, the author of al-Shara'i' and al-Mu'tabar.

The Book of al-Wasila and its author are both well known, and his opinions circulate among the later scholars. Al-Shaykh Muntajab al-Din said: "The Shaykh and Imam 'Imad al-Din Abu Ja'far Muhammad b. He was at first a Maliki, then was guided aright and became an Imami. Most of the reports of this book agree with what is in our well-known books, save that he did not transmit from the Imams after al-Sadiq, out of fear of the Isma'ili caliphs; yet beneath the veil of dissimulation he disclosed the truth to whoever looks into it deeply. His reports are fit to serve for corroboration and confirmation. Ibn Khallikan said: "He is one of the eminent men who are looked to. The Amir al-Mukhtar al-Masihi mentioned him in his history and said: he was of such learning, jurisprudence, religion and distinction as could not be surpassed. Ibn Zulaq said in his notice on his son 'Ali b. al-Nu'man: "His father al-Nu'man b. Muhammad the judge was of the utmost learning, one of the people of
