الصِّدْقِ وَ مَا أَنْعَمَ اللَّهُ عَلَى عَبْدٍ مِنْ عِبَادِهِ نِعْمَةً أَنْعَمَ وَ أَعْظَمَ وَ أَرْفَعَ وَ أَجْزَلَ وَ أَبْهَى مِنَ الْحِكْمَةِ قَالَ اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَ جَلَّ يُؤْتِي الْحِكْمَةَ مَنْ يَشاءُ وَ مَنْ يُؤْتَ الْحِكْمَةَ فَقَدْ أُوتِيَ خَيْراً كَثِيراً وَ ما يَذَّكَّرُ إِلَّا أُولُوا الْأَلْبابِ أَيْ لَا يَعْلَمُ مَا أَوْدَعْتُ وَ هَيَّأْتُ فِي الْحِكْمَةِ إِلَّا مَنِ اسْتَخْلَصْتُهُ لِنَفْسِي وَ خَصَصْتُهُ بِهَا وَ الْحِكْمَةُ هِيَ الثَّبَاتُ وَ صِفَةُ الْحَكِيمِ الثَّبَاتُ عِنْدَ أَوَائِلِ الْأُمُورِ وَ الْوُقُوفُ عِنْدَ عَوَاقِبِهَا وَ هُوَ هَادِي خَلْقِ اللَّهِ إِلَى اللَّهِ تَعَالَى قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى اللّٰه عليه و آله لِعَلِيٍّ عليه السلام لَأَنْ يَهْدِيَ اللَّهُ عَلَى يَدَيْكَ عَبْداً مِنْ عِبَادِ اللَّهِ خَيْرٌ لَكَ مِمَّا طَلَعَتْ عَلَيْهِ الشَّمْسُ مِنْ مَشَارِقِهَا إِلَى مَغَارِبِهَا.

truthfulness. And God has not bestowed upon a servant of His servants a blessing more delightful, or greater, or higher, or more abundant, or more splendid than wisdom. God, mighty and majestic, said: "He gives wisdom to whom He wills; and whoever is given wisdom has been given much good; and none remembers save those possessed of understanding" — that is, none knows what I have deposited and prepared within wisdom save one whom I have purified for Myself and singled out with it. And wisdom is steadfastness; and the quality of the wise is steadfastness at the beginnings of affairs and the halting at their outcomes. And he is the guide of God's creation to God the Exalted. The Messenger of God — may God bless him and his family — said to 'Ali, peace be upon him: That God should guide by your two hands a servant of God's servants is better for you than all upon which the sun rises, from its risings to its settings.

بيان: ضياء المعرفة الإضافة إما بيانية أو لامية و على الأخير فالمراد النور الحاصل في القلب بسبب المعرفة أو العلوم الفائضة بعدها و الثبات عند أوائل الأمور عدم التزلزل من الفتن الحادثة عند الشروع في عمل من أعمال الخير و كذا الوقوف عند عواقبها و أواخرها و ما يترتب عليها من المفاسد الدنيوية.

Elucidation: "the radiance of the knowledge of realities": the annexation is either explicative or possessive; and upon the latter, what is meant is the light produced in the heart by reason of that knowledge, or the sciences that flow after it. And steadfastness at the beginnings of affairs is the not being shaken by the trials that arise at the commencing of a deed among the deeds of good; and likewise the halting at their outcomes and their ends, and at what follows upon them of worldly corruptions.

«27»- غو، غوالي اللئالي عَنْ مَعْمَرٍ عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ الْمُسَيَّبِ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى اللّٰه عليه و آله مَنْ يُرِدِ اللَّهُ بِهِ خَيْراً يُفَقِّهْهُ فِي الدِّينِ.

«27»- ghw, Ghawali al-La'ali: from Ma'mar, from al-Zuhri, from Sa'id b. al-Musayyab, from Abu Hurayra, who said: The Messenger of God — may God bless him and his family — said: Whomever God intends good for, He gives him understanding in religion.

نوادر الراوندي، بإسناده عن موسى بن جعفر عن آبائه عن النبي صلى اللّٰه عليه و آله مثله.

The Nawadir of al-Rawandi, by his chain, from Musa b. Ja'far, from his forefathers, from the Prophet — may God bless him and his family — the like of it.

«28»- وَ بِهَذَا الْإِسْنَادِ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى اللّٰه عليه و آله مِنْ حُسْنِ إِسْلَامِ الْمَرْءِ تَرْكُهُ مَا لَا يَعْنِيهِ.

«28»- And by this chain he said: The Messenger of God — may God bless him and his family — said: It is of the goodness of a man's Islam that he leaves what does not concern him.

«29»- سر، السرائر فِي جَامِعِ الْبَزَنْطِيِّ عَنْ أَبِي بَصِيرٍ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ اللَّهِ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عليه السلام قَالَ قَالَ عَلِيٌّ عليه السلام قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى اللّٰه عليه و آله نِعْمَ الرَّجُلُ الْفَقِيهُ فِي الدِّينِ إِنِ احْتِيجَ إِلَيْهِ نَفَعَ وَ إِنْ لَمْ يُحْتَجْ إِلَيْهِ نَفَعَ نَفْسَهُ.

«29»- sr, al-Sara'ir: in the Jami' of al-Bazanti, from Abu Basir, from Abu 'Abd Allah, from his father, peace be upon him, who said: 'Ali, peace be upon him, said: The Messenger of God — may God bless him and his family — said: Excellent is the man who has understanding in religion: if he is needed, he profits; and if he is not needed, he profits himself.

«30»- غو، غوالي اللئالي قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى اللّٰه عليه و آله لِكُلِّ شَيْ ءٍ عِمَادٌ وَ عِمَادُ هَذَا الدِّينِ الْفِقْهُ.

«30»- ghw, Ghawali al-La'ali: The Messenger of God — may God bless him and his family — said: For everything there is a pillar, and the pillar of this religion is understanding.

«31»- وَ قَالَ صلى اللّٰه عليه و آله الْفُقَهَاءُ أُمَنَاءُ الرَّسُولِ.

«31»- And he — may God bless him and his family — said: The jurists are the trustees of the Messenger.

«32»- وَ قَالَ أَمِيرُ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ صَلَوَاتُ اللَّهِ عَلَيْهِ لِوَلَدِهِ مُحَمَّدٍ تَفَقَّهْ فِي الدِّينِ فَإِنَّ الْفُقَهَاءَ وَرَثَةُ الْأَنْبِيَاءِ.

«32»- And the Commander of the Faithful, God's blessings be upon him, said to his son Muhammad: Gain understanding in religion, for the jurists are the heirs of the prophets.
