«35»- And he — may God bless him and his family — went out, and behold, in the mosque were two gatherings: a gathering gaining understanding, and a gathering supplicating God and asking of Him. And he said: Both of the two gatherings are unto good. As for these, they supplicate God; and as for these, they learn and give understanding to the ignorant — these are the more excellent. With teaching was I sent. Then he sat with them.
«36»- And from al-Baqir, peace be upon him: God have mercy upon a servant who revived knowledge. And it was said: And what is the reviving of it? He said: That he discuss it with the people of religion and of scrupulousness.
«37»- And from him, peace be upon him, who said: The mutual discussion of knowledge is study, and study is a goodly prayer.
«38»- In the Psalms: Say to the rabbis of the Children of Israel and to their monks (1): Converse with the God-fearing among people; and if you do not find among them one who is God-fearing, then converse with the scholars; and if you do not find a scholar, then converse with the men of intellect. For God-fearing and knowledge and intellect are three ranks — I have not placed one of them in a creature of Mine while I desired his destruction.
