Elucidation: These reports indicate the obligation of seeking knowledge. And there is no doubt as to the obligation of seeking the necessary measure of the knowledge of God and His attributes and the rest of the principles of religion, and of the knowledge of the acts of worship and their conditions and of the prohibitions — even if by taking it from a scholar — as an individual obligation. And the more widely held view among the companions is that the acquiring of more than that is either among the collective obligations or among the recommended acts.

Elucidation: the mafriq of the head is its middle; and it was annexed to heaven because it lies in its direction, or what is meant by it is the middle of heaven. And perhaps there is an omission in it, and it was: from the crown of his head to heaven.
