فصل ( فيما قاله مالك بن نويرة لأبي بكر وما خدع خالد ) قال بعض المحققين فيما لخصه من كتاب إلتهاب نيران الأحزان ما هذا لفظه : فلما بويع لأبي بكر ، دخل مالك بن نويرة المدينة لينظر من قام بالأمر بعد رسول الله صلى الله عليه وآله وكان يوم الجمعة ، فلما دخل المسجد وجد أبا بكر يخطب على منبر رسول الله صلى الله عليه وآله ، فلما نظر إليه قال : هذا أخو تيم ؟ !

Section (on what Malik b. Nuwayra said to Abu Bakr, and how Khalid deceived him). One of the investigators said, in his summary of the book Iltihab Niran al-Ahzan, in these words: When Abu Bakr was pledged to, Malik b. Nuwayra entered Medina to see who had taken charge of the affair after the Messenger of God, may God bless him and his Family; and it was a Friday. When he entered the mosque he found Abu Bakr preaching upon the pulpit of the Messenger of God, may God bless him and his Family. And when he looked at him he said: Is this the brother of Taym?!

قالوا : نعم ، قال : فما فعل وصي رسول الله صلى الله عليه وآله الذي أمرني رسول الله صلى الله عليه وآله باتباعه وموالاته ، فقال له المغيرة بن شعبة : إنك غبت وشهدنا والأمر يحدث بعده الأمر ، فقال مالك والله ما حدث شئ ولكنكم خنتم الله ورسوله .

They said: Yes. He said: Then what has become of the legatee of the Messenger of God, may God bless him and his Family, whom the Messenger of God, may God bless him and his Family, commanded me to follow and to take as my friend? Al-Mughira b. Shu'ba said to him: You were absent and we were present, and one matter arises after another. Malik said: By God, nothing has arisen; rather you have betrayed God and His Messenger.

ثم تقدم إلى أبي بكر ، فقال يا أبا بكر : لماذا رقيت منبر رسول الله صلى الله عليه وآله ووصي رسول الله عليه السلام جالس ؟

Then he advanced to Abu Bakr and said: O Abu Bakr, why have you climbed the pulpit of the Messenger of God, may God bless him and his Family, while the legatee of the Messenger of God, peace be upon him, sits there?

فقال أبو بكر : أخرجوا الأعرابي البوال على عقبيه من المسجد ، فقام إليه عمر وخالد وقنفذ ، فلم يزالوا يكزون في ظهره حتى أخرجوه من المسجد كرها بعد إهانة وضرب ، فركب مالك راحلته وهو ينشد ويقول أطعنا رسول الله ما كان بيننا فيا قوم ما شأني وشأن أبي بكر

Abu Bakr said: Put this bedouin out of the mosque, backwards on his heels. So 'Umar, Khalid and Qunfudh rose to him, and did not cease striking him in the back until they had put him out of the mosque by force, after insult and beating. So Malik mounted his riding-camel, reciting and saying: — We obeyed the Messenger of God while he was among us; — so, my people, what have I to do with Abu Bakr,
